No word on how many will be aboard. Of the December sailings the 4-nighter is the one closest to being sold out. I guess it will be over 5000 passengers but not close to the 6200 max level. In other news, RCI is now denying reports the dock at Labadee won't be ready.

Travel agency

Hi jsheridan, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I hope you will decide to book a cruise. Just a little advice. If you have a good travel agent, that is CLIA certified or at least specializes in cruises, that is the way to go. Booking through an on-line "agency" is not the best way to book. A good travel agent is worth their weight in gold. They will be sure you get the best price available. They don't charge anymore than booking directly....

Black Friday Deals
Published (2009-11-25 18:12:00)
I found a Twitter link...if it works. Look here. Personally, I doubt I'd get in line that early. At the same time, a 32" LCD TV for $246 at Target is pretty enticing, and if it was in my budget I might go. My local Wal-Mart said people would be lining up around 1AM for their deals that start at 5AM. I wanted to try and get one of the $198 laptops for my mom for Christmas. She doesn't have a computer. Happy Shopping!...or should...

REVIEW: Oasis of the Seas
Published (2009-11-24 16:36:00)
quote: and all in two days There was actually more to report, but I was trying to keep the review down to a dull roar. For example, I saw the 70s Disco Show one night on the Promenade. Lots of dancers in costumes, loud music, and the appearance of The Village People act. Folks were dancing on a bridge across the Promenade, on spiral staircases, balconies and on the floor. It was very festive. The crowd was huge and everyone was having a good...

Travel agency
Published (2009-11-25 19:36:00)
Welcome to Cruise-Chat, jsheridan. Have you decided which ship you're going to book? I've been on a lot of RCI ships, and I believe you're going to love Royal Caribbean. If you don't have a travel agent yet, I would advise you to book direct with RCCL. You will have total control of your booking directly with RCCL. If you book with an on-line agency, they own your booking and you have to go through them to make any changes....

Welcome to cruise-chat and, if you are from the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving! Between the two cruise lines, which ships are you considering? There can be differences between ships within the same line. Are the itineraries of any concern? As far as the bedding, your cabin steward will take care of that for you, either before or after you board. Still, read the ship's deck plans carefully. Some ...

Happy Thanksgiving, to you, too! And to all of our members. I have so VERY much to be thankful for, especially this year! Sure wish we were all on board, enjoying a thanksgiving dinner together. Then none of us would have to cook, serve, or do dishes

Welcome to cruise-chat. Our forum rules are located HERE . We look at posts which discuss specific travel agents, agencies, or on-line travel sellers as being advertising. If we allowed it then it wouldn't be long before we looked like a travel bazaar, with agents promoting themselves and so forth. So to answer your question - talking about cruises is what we do. Talking about cruise ...

Generally cruise prices offered are the same no matter where you go...small agency, large agency, direct with a cruise line, on-line travel seller (like Travelocity). We always suggest a new cruiser use an agent and not do it on your own. Even after years of cruising I still use an agent. In particular, Royal Caribbean claims they will punish any agent or company they catch rebating ...
