There were tons of different cultures in the Civil War. Chinese, Irish, Australian, you name it, they were probably there. However, I will search for a site for you. Whether or not I find one with my meager web surfing skills is to be seen. __________________ Severon, Civil War Researcher.

In the meanwhile, perhaps we can discuss the facts using facts and evidence. No one here thinks its possible to know everything. It is certainly possible to document something instead of just pulling it out of the Giant Invisble Hat (of random ideas). Not all documentation is in the official records (with or without the capitalization of O and R), but documentation is far more reliable than hearsay. Taking things on faith may be doable for...

A Soldier's Life For Me In December 1859, I left my home near Mason, Tennessee and went to Texas. At the beginning of the Civil War in 1861 I tried to join the Confederate Army there but could not, as it was then thought that the war would last such a short time that Texas Troops would not be needed. After being refused there I started on horseback with four other men from Sandy Point, ...

I don't really know. I've read in other works that Pemberton didn't want to try Johnston's plan because Davis was telling him to hold Vicksburg at all costs. However, the failure of his was that he tried to do both, he started to move some of his army to Johnston and tried to hold Vicksburg at the same time. This came to ruin immediately (and you all know how because you all know Grant). Hope ...

I have recently read a book about ghosts at Gettysburg and one of the authors favorite things to do is leave a tape recorder running at various spots. He says that he picked up a voice saying clearly "Jeb". He also says that others have picked up noises and voices on their recorders. Don't know, could be fun, could be a waste of time, could lose your recorder.

1. Since you said that the Battle of Franklin was a little known battle, it would make perfect sense to have a museum, so it can be brought out to a wider audience.
2. I think so - they have put their heart and souls into the battlefield restoration project, so I don't see why they can do it again.

I, too, am aware of Sherman's 'Type A' energy levels (it was rumored that he literally couldn't sit still for more than five minutes without doodling or pacing, or something of the sort; foot-tapping comes to mind, as you suggested).
My 'hunch' would be that Sherman's evolution of development (which, IMHO, is one of the most extraordinary evolutions of all 'personas' in the Civil...
