Aussies make derogatory comments???!!! NEVER!

I am seriously thinking about becoming a Nurse Midwife once I graduate. I currently work in the ER at a large hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and one of the ER doctors suggested that I look into becoming an Anesthesist. It seems like there is too much involed with that. Does anyone know what all you have to do to become a Midwife? I am sure it involves getting a Bachelors, but is there ...

Found from a blog in Advance for LPNs, a petition to allow LPNs with experience to sit for their RN boards. I would love to do that. What does everyone else think? Here is the link: http://www. petitiononline.com/lps2t/petition.html

Do you think it would be prudent for me to leave my job at a telemetry unit (night shift) for a medsurg unit (day shift)? I want to live a "normal" life for my health. Nothing compares to a good night's sleep right? But my telemetry unit is too crazy for me to handle. I think medsurg would be an easier load. I think my health and sanity is more of a priority than working at a "specialized ...

I am comparing the costs of becoming an RN between university (BSN) and community college (ADN). The difference in tuition is as much as 50K! If you spend 50K more to get a BSN, do you earn much more than getting an ADN? Thanks for your help!

Professionals call it elderspeak , the sweetly belittling form of address that has always rankled older people: the doctor who talks to their child rather than to them about their health; assuming that an older person needs to be addressed slowly or in a loud voice. Then there are healthcare workers who address any elderly person as "dear" or " young lady" which is often...

Our Healthcare System Is Dying Now that President Bush signed into law a measure addressing the global financial meltdown, the federal treasury will be hundreds of billions of dollars lighter and lots of politicians will be taking credit for solving the crisis on Wall Street. If only the federal government could be mobilized so quickly to solve the nation's ...

A recent study led by Vanderbilt University professor Peter Buerhaus polled registered nurses about two timely issues -- the state of health care and the importance of the issue in the upcoming election. With a close election expected, the country's three million registered nurses could make a difference in the election, Buerhaus says. Most nurses interviewed support some form of ...
