Well how do you know that it is down in the first place? Are you manually running `zmcontrol status`, or are you getting an email? If you are getting an email the time of that email should be within 2-4 minutes of when it went down.

Fast in that you shell out to a terminal prompt? Or fast as in the reported time for the ldap+mysql+blobs take 5 sec? Depending on if your running in asynchronous mode or not you have to use zmbackupquery to find out if it's finished. Try this: zmbackup -s server.domain.com -f -a all --sync -s server.domain.com

As it turns out, convertd was failing to start because SELinux was in 'enforcing' mode. Running # /usr/sbin/setenforce 0 fixes that right up. This is probably a Zimbra bug. Off to look for it.

I have got the same question.
however, I think Zimbra doesn't really support the free Microsoft live hotmail.
(may just suppot the paied hotmail plus client whose account can suppot pop3)

If your Zimbra server has an internet facing port 25 then you can't enforce Authentication for other mail servers, it doesn't make sense and you never receive any email - think about it, how would other mail server know what the account/password is?

zimbra version 6 seems to be "buggy" and no one here is willing to help..we

the 2 commands you'll want to look at are Code: zmprov getDataSource
zmprov modifyDataSource if it's the username you're looking to change you'll want to change the attribute zimbraDataSourceUsername . How can you do this for all or most of your users? well that'd take a bit of work. you'd basically need to loop through all users (use zmprov getAllAccounts), then do a getDataSource ...

I should note that the system is publicly accessible only through a reverse proxy on my firewall... which has been rewritten to point to a local page on the firewall saying "I'm upgrading the frickin' mail server; take a pill".

While I haven't tried an Android phone yet (but would like to very much), it looks like others have had mixed luck. If you search for Android in the forums you'll find a number of threads about Android typically working partially. There's also a couple of open bugs which would indicate that they plan on supporting it over ActiveSync, though it looks like support isn't quite there yet.

By default a user can only send messages from their main account or an alias specified on their account. You can allow them to send from any address by clicking the User -> Preferences tab -> Sending Mail section -> Allow sending email from any address option in the admin UI.
This can also be defined in the COS.

I have same problem but only zimbra 6.0.0 .I have dimdim server in my lan , i modifiy zimlet for these cuestion, url, ip,port etc and zimlet found so far in5.0.18 zimbra server , but un 6.0 not found .the mesage is check room is busy. Also the dimdim original zimlet, for conect webmeting.dimdim.com not found to0.
