Thank you for being at least respectful, and not going personal. Really that is the only problem I have. Disagreeing with technical input is one thing, but taking it to a personal attack is something all together different. I wish you had stopped it at the beginning. Maybe the site is doing better than it seems? The C5 FI section is not active like it has been in years past. I could have helped out in a small way. It is very hurtful when you...

You get the misfire detection because the sensor is flaky. The PCM measures the data from the sensor in order to confirm that cylinders are firing. There's a slight but measurable transient increase in crank rotation speed as each piston fires. If the sensor's output is varying, that's going to look a lot like misfires to the PCM. I don't think the car actually does anything special when misfires are detected - I don't...

Nice to see someone close to home. Have you tried WCC or Corvette Specialties, both off the 91 fwy. There are plenty other small performance shops in the area. I know that I have seen some shops on the east side of the 71.

Pull on the metal part....hard. It's just a friction fit. Get a good grip on the stereo so it doesn't smack something. I usually use my thumb as a lever against the back of the unit, and pull with the fingers.

I always start w/ the simple stuff. When was the fuel filter last changed as this sounds like the culprit? Some times after sitting fuel gets past a clogged fuel filter and allows it to start but can't keep up the fuel pressure due to the clog and then starves out.

You need to sell the Z28 and buy a used truck/suv...Probably something late 90s-2005 for $5-$7k. This gives you a rainy day primary car and the Z can be in the "hobby/pleasure" class (<10k miles a year) which should save you some money on insurance...

Gotta go with the Vette. Obviously handles better and responds better to performance mods in general. Reference the newest Shelby Mustangs with 700 plus HP and can't use the bulk of their potential if for no other reason than you can't get a tire with sufficient width to fit in the rear wheel well. And at speed the Vette has better aerodynamics.
