The best thing to do is not let them get corroded. If they're only slightly corroded, I use Collinite insulator wax. You basically rub it on with a fairly thick coating (like waxing a car), let it dry and then wipe it off. I usually do it twice, and drop them every two months and wax them. If this doesn't do the trick, lightly polish them with Collinite metal wax. Rub it on until you feel less resistance, then wipe it off while it is...

Thanks Ron. This review should have gone live several months ago, but we were waiting for better images. Man of Steel is certainly one of Heesen's most significant builds and I thought it was important to include it on YF, even though we lagged the magazines on publishing it.

Hope this gets resolved quickly
Just a political thing, but that's a dangerous part of the world. A professional crew with modern navigation equipment shouldn't make a mistake like that.

The Nobiskrug new build hull 779 was transfered to the Nobiskrug facility in March 2008. The vessel has many distinctive features of the current Jamaica Bay. These include the unmistakable canoe stern and rounded lines.
The current Jamaica Bay has been put on sale which confirms that new build hull 779 at Nobiskrug shipyard is the new Jamaica Bay (III). "JAMAICA BAY is now being offered ...

Hi,
The last time I saw Khalidia was in 2003 , it was basically a stripped out hull laying alongside the wall in La Ciotat, France.
I have no idea what happened to it since then.
Was she powered by Baudoin Engines when you were on it? I knew a few of the team onboard in the early 80's and she had that for running gear then. I was curious to know what it had originally.
The only ...

HH,
You have two issues here: one to understand the operation and workings of a 74-foot yacht, and the other is to learn the waterways of South Florida. As for the cruising, you need to be careful down here as many areas outside the channels are shallow and unforgiving at speed. A good paper chart is your first purchase, don't rely on the chartplotter only to learn.
What type of yacht and ...

Wonder why corrosion sneaks out under your toe rail?
Can we say "Cancer."... Chris Craft did not seal the underside of the wood... To avoid water intrusion and your varnish plugs from popping varnish.. underside of wood must be sealed with epoxy and corrosion must be ground or sandblasted out.

Welcome to YF !
Location of the boat will have a lot to do with it.
I see your from Toronto, is it a local boat if so how has it been stored?
Heated, non-heated if so in or outside. Has it been in storage for a period or has it been a dock queen for the summers?
Any maintence records for the period?
Depending on the answers to above will have a bearing on the answers you ...
