We spent a couple of days there. Osaka is the nearest major city. It takes a bit to get there, so I suggest an overnight stay. We stayed at the Haryoin Temple, which is probably the lowest cost temple to stay in (caution - only vegetarian meals served there). Don't use JR to get there, Nankai Railway has direct trains from Osaka - 90 minute trip on the express train, plus a ride up the mountain on the funicular and then a (mandatory)...

If you only have 3-4 days- rather go up to Daintree forest, its a lovely day out and the scenery is beautiful. Also do a trip out to the Barrier Reef ( full day) Quicksilver do an excellent one. Cost is $110.00 pp includes teas, snacks and a great lunch. Free snorkelling instrucion & equipment is provided. There are many places that you can book at in Port Douglas. Cairns is ok- but really, its just another city, like most. Nothing...

Heaven on Seven on Wabash will be about 15 minutes on foot (I used to walk that almost every day, not for breakfast though ha ha). A little closer would be the new location of Yolk at 747 N. Wells, that'd be about a 10 minute walk. If you have patience for lines, you might check out celebrity chef Rick Bayless' new place XOCO at 449 N. Clark Street which serves breakfast until 10:30am, reviews of the food have been great but...

monkeys in summer?

I would love to see them in the hot springs in winter, but no, I would never go in the summer when they are baited to come down from their natural environment up in the hills.

Hi Karlo, I think all you have to do is to catch a train from Torino to Grenoble (with a change in Chambery) and buy the ticket only for the French segment(Modane - Grenoble). Visit the SNCF site for prices and schedule. There is also a bus which leaves Torino at 23:30 and arrives in Grenoble at 4:00 in the night . Check at www. eurolines.it

Rodez is the nearest railway station to Conques. Trains to Lyon from there take around 8 hours. It would be much better if you flew back to Stansted from a nearer airport.
Ryanair fly from Rodez to London Stansted. They also ...

Children can only be transported in special seats suitable for their weight. If a car has airbags for passengers, the child must not be seated with his back to the driver. The car must be equipped with seat belts for all the passengers.

OK, I am a bit prejudiced (I used to live there).
It depends somewhat on what's important to you: art, architecture, history, food, wine, all that stuff...
Some people have an unnatural attachment to Venice; others can take it or leave it.
Florence is a beautiful town - almost a work of art. But if you're not into the Italian Renaissance, it will be ...

No, cutting it too fine Steve, even if plane is on time. Potentially long wait to get immigration cleared, get a cab to the railway station which is close to an hour assuming little traffic (big assumption) then to buy your ticket then find your way onto the train through the crowds at the station.

I'm shocked. We've been traveling in France for nearly 20 years and have never heard anything like that. The French have been polite, helpful and kind to us. It certainly is not usual behavior; it is very odd.
I can't imagine a Frenchman speaking to a stranger like that in the first place. It makes me wonder if the person really was French or just pretending to be. Certainly your daughter ...

I don't think you can make a bad choice here. They are both lovely towns. I suspect Gubbio might be nearer what you are looking for and it certainly would be closer to Orvieto (an excellent choice, BTW).
You could type each town name into the VT Search Window above and see what VT members have written about each place. Check member Travel Pages listed. There will be photos, reviews, Things ...

I don't know - I suppose they all drink what they like best - what they prefer. That's what I do wherever I am.
Are there fashions in drinking these days? I thought that went out when I was last expected to order a Pimms - because that's what women did at a bar.
I hated the fruit salad floating on top of my glass with a stupid miniature umbrella stuck into the marschino cherry!
Why not ...
