Windjammer, the Q6000Z is available in an 8mph version. Your configuration is the standard 6mph version. Unfortunately, due to cuts in insurer funding (discussed in-depth throughout this site), ultra-high-speed powerchair options simply aren't being funded by insurers like they used to. As a result, many users who were approved for 7mph or 8mph powerchairs 5 years ago are now finding that insurers are only funding 6mph or 6.5mph versions....

This pic is already thumbnail size so the key seems to be posting on a web site an somehow point to it. I did visit http://tinypic.com but didn't see any way to delete the pics that I could upload there. Don't want my pics permanently posted. Will a personal web site do it also? I need to get another one anyhow to post my AT ideas and inventions. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

On another site I usually put a narriative for those of us who are slight sighted. The Thanksgiving turkey's behind is stuffed into the basket of a store scooter holding onto the side of the basket. He is very happy. The little old white headed granny in a pink dress deep in thought smiles and looks over a list that says.. Dinner, carrots, 1 big fat turkey, Peas, stuffing. The carrots and peas ...

I use a padded 4 point seatbelt by Bodypoint, instead of it going around my
waist it goes over the top of my thighs (sits flat). I have not had an
issue of sliding out of my chair or the belt annoying the SPC area and
tube.

The issue of competitive bidding isn't about a single brand of seat cushion, but of a far greater risk: your mobility as a whole. In 2007 and 2008, we addressed competitive bidding extensively on this site -- and continue doing so. Please allow me to give one of my overviews: Quote: Competitive Bidding: A slippery slope of harm By Mark E. Smith If you're like most consumers, you ...

Congrats Mr. Bafus! Consider being evaluated by a Certified Occupational Therapist, so that you will get the best "Bang" for your buck. Doctor ordered evaluation will determine both your present physical assets and your future physical assets based on your MD. The OT can then establish and recommend both types of equipment that will meet those goals for short term and the long haul. Doing it ...

Windjammer, I'm always glad to look up and inform individuals of their orders' status, namely because I know how agonizing it can be simply waiting, not knowing when your new mobility product -- read that, newly-found liberation -- will arrive. Fortunately, most of our orders ship well within only a few days, so delivery on our end is typically very, very quick. Because of the amount of orders ...

Absolutely great article, Mark. I have personally asked myself and others this question, and have come to some of the same conclusions. Moving the physically disabled community forward in the 1960s and '70s with the homecoming of the Vietnam Vets made a tremendous difference. There certainly was a "community" atmosphere and a willingness to join forces and advocate for all. Indeed the ...

Hi Janet, Welcome aboard! I see this is your first post. As far as chairs go there are a lot of things to take into consideration before getting one. I have had a Bounder that is FAST and I love it. I now have a Pride 4000R with fold down back, so it will fit into my car and swing UP arm rests. One of the problems I face with the arm rests is after they are up is keeping them there. It's not ...

I put my grocerys on the back of my seat. Either side of the seat on the hand post that stick up. I balance the weight. If I have to I will loop them on my arm rests. IF I have to carry my eggs and bread (crushables) I put them on my seat belt and they will hang in front of me. I can even carry a case of soda on the side of me in the seat. I take a list. What I did not get the first time, I ...
