I've asked the same question, but the general consensus seems to be that it has to be the handset which you bought the contract on or 12 months on PAYG. Which also reminds me, I sent O2 CS a question a week ago and have not heard back....

If youre already on O2 why not get the 16G iphone 3gs on PAYG for £440? Even the 32G 3GS directly from Apple would be less than £599.

HTC Eris (for Verizon) which brings me to the question of joint partnership between HTC & Google. I though that the HTC Hero was not a Google phone as it allowed for the Sense UI to be applied. And that in general, Google Phones will not have any UI on top of it (i.e. Magic, Droid, etc...). However, this HTC Eris (which is the Verizon version of the Hero) is a Google phone and has Sense UI. Am I complicating things here or am I making...

I think that there will be a place for breaking things down into OS... but not yet. Manufacturers are still cranking out phones with their own proprietry OS, and when i look for phone issues, i go there to find out what's going on. Maemo, LiMon and Android now look to be A future, but certainly not the only future. I'm not convinced that everyone will want to have a smartphone, no matter how hard the networks and manufacturers are...

Well yes i watch it. i liked the auditions rounds but im usually working Sat night, so missed a lot, and a lot from the judges house, but ive caught up on a few things each week. and xtra factor is hilarious. and always made time to catch up or watch this round.

Not a bad assessment,
As a pool fan I hope we can do it this year, we've still got the main core of our squad and added in Johnson who will give us a bit of attacking options at fullback. Xabi'll be a big loss if he goes, not many players who can control the tempo of the game like him.
I still think we'll see a 1 more big signing if Xabi goes, maybe Silva or Aqualani of Roma.

Eclair/Droid looks great - not so hot on the hardware design (although specs sound fantastic).
However, Android is really shaping up to be a serious competitor to the iPhone OS - the more open development platform, greater competition from hardware designers and the ability to multi-task will hopefully mean that this will go from strength to strength.
