I ran into these two guys at a sports event and as you can probably tell from their expressions the results were not to their liking. Just a couple more of my character sketches. Hope you enjoy! These two are each a quarter sheet of Arches 140# CP and as always all C and C are welcome and appreciated. atlee

I just placed orders for W&N's brushes and paints from Cheap Joe's on-line shop over USD 250. But after I punched in my credit card info and entered confirmation and waited and the page came back to log in to "Check out" again. I didn't want to redo the process, due to fear of being billed twice. Does anyone have an experience with Cheap Joe's on-line store? This is my first time...

I was home in the middle of Hurricane Gustav and the day after with the tornado warnings so I painted in-between warnings. Didn't have to use the hair-dryer a lot, . I've been playing around a lot with masking fluid, spraying water, etc. Mixing transparent colors, also etc. I don't necessarily think of this painting as a hurricane but more as the beauty outside amidst the hurricane. I ...

Simple question: Tell us how you are doing compared to eight years ago. Better, worse or the same. What do you feel the reasons are.

I hadn't posted in the gallery lately so I decided to post my August challenge (which I finished in September) here as well. Thanks for looking and as always I welcome C&C.

Hi everyone, Last night I tried my new paper out, what a difference proper watercolour paper makes! I tried the same theme as last time. Please, any critique is very welcome. Paper 300gram, 24cm x 32cm, Windsor and Newton paints. Regards Albert

This is my August Studio Challenge piece completed. I incorporated several of the suggestions made in the Challenge into the finished piece. This painting was definitely a challenge, but I both enjoyed it and learned a lot. This is done on 1/4 sheet Arches 140#CP using DS, DV and other artist grade paints. As usualy, all comments and suggests are welcome and encouraged.

Hi I'm new to oil paints (and wetcanvas so hope i'm in the right area) and have recently learned (through old art magazines) that I can prime mdf board before painting. I've read different things though...and don't know what they are or how I should go about trying them. If anyone could help me understand what each is and what would be best achivically I would ver much appreciate it. 1. ...

Sarah Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the first female governor of Alaska, its youngest, and is the first governor born after Alaska achieved statehood. Brought to statewide attention because of her whistleblowing on ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders,[1] she won election in 2006 by ...

It's amazing to me that the demands of tolerance and respect for religious beliefs are made by the very same people who support and defend a religion that would deny, ultimately, each and every one of us the right to worship, (or not) as we please. This religion of Islam (which is not wholely a religion) would, given half the chance, mold you all into slaves for it's intolerant dogma. Amazing!...

The Real Palin Effect - Whar groups will vote for McCain because of Sarah Palin as McCain's VP Candidate What groups will vote for Obama because of Sarah Palin as McCain's VP Candidate I think the addition of Palin to the GOP Ticket may have some very unexpected consequences with different demographic groups in America. There is one group that I think will be switching to...

I found this article worthy of consideration, especially the last paragraph. Many of her comments speak for me, a conservative woman who also is NOT a single issue voter, and who wishes the "other side" would give me and women like me that consideration. Quote: August 30, 2008 Sarah Palin and the broad conservative tent Posted: 08:47 AM ET Amy ...

Let's do an art exchange! I'll be glad to organize it. I've participated in art exchanges in other WC! forums around Christmas, and have gotten some really cool pieces...but many of us are super busy around that time, so wouldn't a SUMMER ONE be neat? Anyone interested will create...and receive ...a small piece from another artist in the CP forum. I'm thinking no larger than 5" x7", or ...
