Your run of the mill virus, even if it affects a guest operating system hosted on a "cloud", will not be able to impact anything other than that guest. Given how much different systems "talk to" each other in order to coordinate important functionality like failover and live-migration, though, it definitely seems possible that a highly-sophisticated attack could be devised to bring down an entire...

Foobic is absolutely right - and the thing is that if they got your FTP information for your primary (reseller) account then they very well could have gotten into the rest of your accounts.

No one is talking about GODaddy taking responsibility and removing the malware. I'm sure they have had the issue before, so it shouldn't be that hard to point the client to the right direction to what they should do to clean up the problem themselves. I assume GoDaddy support reps have far more experience with this than the OP.

TailorMadeServers is an unmanaged provider and this is clearly stated within their TOS as well. It does take quite a fair amount of work to provision a dedicated server not to mention the hardware costs alone. For an unmanaged provider, their duty is to provide the customer with working hardware and ensure infrastructure services are online (i.e. network, power, cooling etc).

mmmm... terrible.....
Let's see... where to start...
1. what is the "sleeping process" name?
2. run "dmesg|tail -n 20" and see if you get some error messages (disk errors, maybe, just guessing here).
3. What is your server's main function.
4. How is the network usage? (maybe you can use "bwm" or "bwm-ng" to have a quick look at it).
I hope to help,

I would recommend to keep Cogent, may be with lower commit, and add bandcon if you can. We are in talks with bandcon for adding them into our mix - so I don't know their quality, but it is suppose to be good.
From marketing side also - Cogent is a well known, established in US and Europe Tier 1 provider (I know some people will start fighting with me over that statement) - so even in your ...

Awkward, I do not agree with them saying:

They probably figure that managed services have a higher profit margin, which they normally do, so they want a bigger piece of that pie.
