Litmus Test
Published (2009-11-24 05:10:00)
Hi ken.h, Draxx is correct on one of the points he makes, litmus paper is to test the acidity of a substance but I will confirm that there is moisture sensitive indicators within the handsets so we are able to tell quite easily as to whether the handset has come in contact with any moisture or water. You can find a statement made relating to water/moisture damage on our Repairs Thread . Sorry I couldn't go in to the chemistry of what the...

Published (2009-11-24 15:21:00)
Hi andymel2, There's a bit of confusion here, as you're using a modem which is designed for Pay-as-you-Go with a Contract account. That is likely to cause you a few issues. First of all, can we confirm that you're using your old Contract SIM in the device instead of the Top-up-and-Go SIM that came with the new modem? Secondly, you'll need to be using the FULL version of Vodafone Mobile Connect, rather than VMC Lite - as...

Hi guys, Draxx , the reason the software would not have been officially released would likely be that Nokia had not announced to us that they were releasing the firmware update after we'd approved it, having said that though I don't know why this would happen so I'll try and chase this one up. kai666 , thank you for the information, I have now fed this back to our known issues team, I will let you know if I hear anything back....

QUOTE (Adam r @ Nov 24 2009, 05:09 PM) Hello all im having good fun with the HD2, but i have hit a bit of an issue with 'clutter'. basically i have hotmail set up so i can access my emails and stuff, but for some reason msn / hotmail is syncing itself with my phone book causing literally HUNDREDS of contacts flooding in to my phone book. i have tried deleting them, but they soon re-appear....

Htc Hd2 Camera Issue
Published (2009-11-22 16:33:00)
Hi just been to Brighton and took a lot of photo's with the HD2 and have to say its not bad but not as good as the offerings from nokia or samsung or sony, the resolution looks worse on screen because its only 65000 colours which gives the pics a slighty blurred look when using pinch and zoom. The flash is very very bright but next to useless unless you are at close range. Overall the fact the quality is not as good as my N95 does not...

Published (2009-11-24 13:11:00)
Hi Paulgd121, Firstly I would like to offer a very warm welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the eForum team. The quickest and easiest way to transfer music files onto your PC would be to do this via USB cable connected to your PC. Simply connect your phone via USB and drag and drop these onto the memory card in the phone or drop hem in the sounds folder. Once done, to play these files; Press "Menu" Scroll to...

Hd2 More Than One Hotmail Account
Published (2009-11-24 16:10:00)
ok... been testing some more and i got it wrong... you can setup multiple accounts no problem. With regard to hotmail though it wont let me set one up... I think this is because im using the free hotmail service and pop3 access is only available on paid accounts maybe?!?! What you can try though is setting up your connection manually as i mentioned above. When you setup your second account put a load of nonsense email address...

Htc Hd2 - Software Bug List

QUOTE (ST-HD2 @ Nov 23 2009, 11:20 PM) The problem I've got is that the fm radio dose nothing - when you tap no the icon it runs then you get the windows busy animation and that's as far as it goes? Headphones are plunged in before you ask. Any ideas? FIX: I think I read on xda dev that it's related to installing tomtom and the bluetooth files. Personally all I can suggest is do a factory reset. Until...

Using A Mobile Bb Sim In A Phone
Published (2009-11-24 14:19:00)
Hi JAIMEJAIME, I'm with Virgin myself for my broadband but I have family who are outside their available coverage areas and they have wireless dongles themselves, so I can asee why both approaches have merits - it's just a bit of a mess when you get both at once! You can put the SIM card into a phone, but as it's a data SIM you would be charged at standard rate for any calls or messages, and there wouldn't be any...

Hello thesaint Interesting thread, there are a multitude of security software applications available for the Symbian series phones, however these vary in function, there are apps that will secure access to the device, folders etc, or prevent certain access to different software functions. I am not aware of an anit-virus program in the sense of a PC style Nortaon antivirus, however a ...

QUOTE (IanL1962 @ Nov 25 2009, 01:00 PM) I suspect the reason I've been having problems playing listen again radio on BBC iPlayer is as follows: 'From Thursday 22 October 2009, radio programmes on BBC iPlayer are no longer available in RealMedia format. This format has been replaced by Flash, which is now the default playback format for radio in BBC iPlayer.' (from website ...

Hi RPC73, You would need to obtain this through a website like http://www.whatsmyip.org Please note that your external IP address is shared via NAT and PAT with lots of other Vodafone users, which means your router needs to be able to support Port Address Translation in order for your VPN to connect to you correctly. Please read our VPN guides for further help in setting this up ...

Hi Nickambrose, Our SIM cards are sent out pre-loaded with £1 of credit. You will need to make a chargeable call using the SIM to activate it - after which you will be able to register the SIM online and top-up. Can you advise us if you've done this already? Jon eForum Team

The first thing to check is that your contacts aren't duplicated, to have the photo the contact needs to be saved onto the phone memory - check the entry on the sim card doesn't still exist as well as this can affect it.

I'm having similar problems. I got the dongle on the 9th November, and that night used over 50MB, another night I know I hit well over 200MB, meaning I should be well in excess of 250MB usage, but the figure the Mobile Connect program is giving me is 133MB, of which 10MB have been this session trying to find the listing of my usage, after clicking on the "View Online Bill" button... The ...

maybe it was because they have said twice that the BBC do not support the HD2. If other forum members can magically find a way of making it work when the BBC haven't as yet, I'm sure one of the MODS will be on to acknowledge the fact as they have on many occasions

QUOTE (MaxReality @ Nov 19 2009, 09:52 PM) Isn't life amazing when you own a HD2. ok to my point. I can understand mobile networks concern over using video streaming with regard to bandwidth, but isn't it about time the...

Basically, I have been recieving malicious calls for these past 3-4 weeks. Always from a withheld number and at different times of the day. The first couple of times I answered, and it was clearly a malicious call, so I stopped answering withheld numbers. Since then they have called regularly; they'd miss days at a time and then call persistently throughout one day, which is very irritating...
