Can you attach the following two items to this thread: The output of phpinfo() The contents of your php.ini file Perhaps we'll be able to see what's going on from within those. Also, though, if you're using mod_php, the value of the max post size can be changed within the PHP application itself. So another option is that you'll need to review the settings of the application you're uploading through, and make sure you...

Hmm, that's annoying .. it seems like Amazon may need a different product code for the EU AMI. If you try to launch the US AMI (with ID ami-6d4ca904) on EC2 in the US, does that work OK?

Published (2009-10-30 16:01:00)
Okay, got everything working. I noticed one odd thing in httpd.conf, the 443 section was at the bottom of all the other sites on the server, yet the port 80 section was up near the top of the list - This must have occurred after I had done an ssl restore on the site. On the other site (server's domain name) that has a certificate, the 443 section is right above the 80 sections. I therefore move the 443 section from the bottom to where it...

I had no idea about that, I thought it is required by Virtualmin. I'll disable it then. All I wanted is to host one domain on my server. but since you seem to know what you're talking about ronald, do you think I have to create a virtual server or I can host my website directly on the main installation? I will compare this to Cpanel. Virtualmin = WHM and Webmin = Cpanel Oh, and there is Usermin. I guess I can't complain about...

Is this a problem with virtualmin I'm not sure how it would be. You're talking about a PHP configuration issue. ;-) Have you restarted Apache after making changes to your php.ini? Are you sure you're modifying the php.ini that is being loaded? If you have PHP setup to run under CGI or fcgi, it would be a user-specific php.ini, found somewhere in the users home (probably). Howdy Morgan, You're clearly going insane. That said, if somebody writes a good Webmin module for any alternative server (good is defined as one that has roughly similar API functionality to the Apache module), we'll probably add support for it to Virtualmin within a few weeks. If I had my druthers, that alternative would probably be lighttpd. It's all the rage with the Web 2.0 kids......

Howdy, If you have the backups of your Virtual Servers available, you should be able to get most things back. After you rebuild the server, and you have Virtualmin working -- log into Virtualmin, and go into Backups -> Restore Backup, and have it restore your various Virtual Servers and settings by pointing it at the directory you have those in. -Eric

Yeah, unfortunately, Ubuntu 9.10 isn't one of the supported distros for the Virtualmin installer. The supported distros are listed here: http://www.virtualmin.com/os-support Ubuntu 8.04 is the most recent supported distribution -- it's an "LTS" release, so it'll be supported for 5 years, making it a great server OS. -Eric

So if you want to move your Cloudmin master settings to another system, here's what I would recommend : 1) Install Cloudmin on the new system. 2) Transfer the /etc/webmin/servers and /etc/webmin/server-manager directories from the old system to the new. 3) Shut down the old system.. All VMs hosted on other systems will continue to run. However, if you have VMs hosted on the old ...

It sounds like most of this can be done using Cloudmin and Virtualmin.. Cloudmin can do the virtual system management, including reboot, imaging, and creation .. assuming a supported virtualization type like Xen is being used. Virtualmin can do the installation of web applications - we support quite a large list, like Wordpress, Drupal, SugarCRM and so on..
