There is a piece, somewhere in the Histories, where Tolkien has written just a paragraph or two about Aragorn and Eowyn and it is just lovely. I'll need to go hunting for it tomorrow.

Screendaily.com France John Hillcoat's Oscar hopeful The Road was released on Wednesday for a take of 24,631 admissions on 201 screens. Metropolitan Filmexport handled the release of the Viggo Mortensen vehicle set in an apocalyptic future. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Guy Pearce also star. So it opened on more screens in France than in the US?!!! How odd!

I think what contributes to Eowyn being much more popular as Aragorn's love interest, is the fact that Miranda is a much better actress than Liv IMO. Her Eowyn was a real person, while Arwen seemed totally lifeless and bland. Maybe it was just the role, but I think a better actress could have made more out of the Arwen character.

The Italian jury has just convicted that American student for the killing of her roommate. I don't know what to think about that. How did it play in Europe? Apprently there was no physical evidence linking her to the crime.

Henry has a very cool radio show over at KCRW, in LA, on Saturdays from 6-8 PST. KCRW has live streaming (iTunes and others), but we have ALL of his radio shows (more than 5 years worth), even back to the Indie103 days over at www.rollins-archive.com It's all sorted by year, and we have a database of the songs that have been played. He has really wonderful musical taste. There's plenty of world music, jazz, funk, and occasionally,...

Rumor has it he's going to run for President in 2012. I say he's already been there, done that thru puppet Bush and look how badly he screwed things up! Let's just hope he doesn't have a chance to rig the election. Heaven help us.

lets face it: virtually all men avoid hygiene like the plague. An hour ago I had to tell my young son to go brush his teeth again because his breath could kill
a cat. When I mentioned this to my dear husband he laughed and said all males are like that. "We only (use jygiene) because of you (women.) If it was just
us (men) we wouldn't do it because we don't care! " Fortunately he does bathe and ...

An 18-year-old has secretly painted a 60ft drawing of a phallus on the roof of his parents' £1million mansion in Berkshire. It was
there for a year before his parents found out. They say he'll have to scrub it off when he gets back from travelling.

The Gray
My soul is sister to gray skies
and dry leaves
(Juan Ramón Jiménez)
I love all that is gray
A perfect full moon
in a delicate mist.
There is something melancholy
indefinite and soft
in the sweetness of pain, then.
I love what is gray
for behind it I expect
the iridescent form
of happiness.

I debated whether to post this, but good vibes are always welcome. I don't mean to worry anyone, but I am having two moles removed tomorrow. Not because
they were judged clinically suspect, but because they are right below each shoulder blade, and are irritated by my bra straps. It is my choice. The doc said
she would take them off anytime I wanted, it's a simple office procedure. I'm really not ...
