I called Judge Fallon's office this morning and left another message for Russ Herman and he called me back and said he would check into for me. He had me to send him a copy of my settlement,so I will wait to see what he tells me.He said he would call today or tomorrow.

Jack,I am not a cpa but I do know that yes you can claim a percentage of it based on various things your cpa would know.If you haven't had a cpa do your taxes it's time to get one as you don't want to lose a penny you don't have to.Also please don't go to H&R block or anyone like them,get a true cpa and pay a little extra to get a little extra,a cpa knows things H&R block doesn't but claims...

HELP - Did I do the right thing?. I called SW and the lawyer wwas out sick yesterday, the day before she could not find my check although it was printed and cut... itis on someone desk today but he can't sing it or mail it...blah blah blah. So I called back and asked for Chris Seeger of Seeger Weiss. He is out on vacation but got his secretary. Told he they have my money($11K) since Oct 7th as I am a MI client and the check was on ----...

The attorney doesn't argue, but they can present a case on why the point deductions should be reduced or eliminated. If the victim has never smoked and points were reduced because of smoking, then the case should be appealed. I'm also interested to know what the point value is for SI victims.

Thank you Justice in Utah -- I also read that 2500 claims will be done(paid) by end of August 2008. In July, Browngreer had about 9100 cases with all the medical reports complete and ready to review. So I guess they finished 2500 so far. Our lawyers can't settle without getting each client's approval of the points. It is our cases. So we will all get award or denial letters in next few months. I ...

It was stated that payments will BEGIN Aug. 28th....not that ALL checks would go out that day. As I understand it, 2500 cases are ready for checks and 3441 cases are ready to have points awarded to them. The checks are to be paid on a "rolling" basis (meaning they will cut the checks as the cases are reviewed and processed rather than making everyone wait until ALL the cases have been processed)....
