You should go ahead and remove the radiator and take it to a radiator shop. They can tell you if they can repair the one you have or recore it. Usually this kind of leak is where the core joins the sides. I think a recore will be really close to a repair and you may as well go ahead if the radiator has
any age to it. _________________ '66 Convertible, 428, in progress

Depending on where you live - I would take to an air conditioning expert and have them purge the system and store the old freon safely.

Pete I have done a few of the cruise-o's, they are very simple. You don't need any special tools, just a couple of C-clamps and an awl or
ice pick to get the old o-rings out. The shop manual has all the info for specs, you just have to read carefully to find them. I bought my last kit online for about $115. If it shifted good before, you should be able to give it a successful rebuild. Having said...

Larry,
Not sure if anyone already suggested but post this on the FE Engine Forum too. This is a much wider audience, which might help you find a referral. 'http://www.network54.com/Forum/74182/' _________________ '66 Convertible, 428, in progress

Quote: How difficult is it to remove the radiator on a 62 t-bird. All many bolts hold the unit in place. Larry
Piece of cake....Most of it is removing the cover plate. From there it's removing the hoses and tranny lines and out she should come.

1961 and 1963 taillight lenses are totally different and are not interchangeable. The 1961 Thunderbird uses a
chrome plated potmetal bezel that surrounds the lens. The design used in 1962 and 1963 used a totally different lens and surround.

So I'm looking at Thunderbirds on ebay....
And I noticed the Shift Indicator is different than mine.
p.s.,I was first to post...
The first pic is a '61 currently on ebay;
(It's marked P R N D2 D1 L )
Here is a pic of mine;
(I have the "
Green Dot" style)
Why is the shift indicator different than mine?
Is it an "early" vs "late" build thing?

I think all the venders have seat foam sets, But you have to buy
the complete set for one bucket. Then pay someone to install. I've seen them installed by T-Bird owners some looked good some not so good. Last one i did i just took the seat not the back to the local upholstery shop and let him do the bottom only. Came out great for about half the price

Its quite possible the color changed with heat and time, but usually darkens to a deeper red (if that makes sense). It definitely shouldn't be looking more orange than red as this is how Chebby red appears when the two are side by side. At a car show you will see several shades of Ford red, but all should be similar. I have had great results with the color and durability of the engine paint ...
