TMS, Java problem in monitoring...
Published (2009-12-01 07:59:00)
I have now uninstalled both of the JRE version that I had installed in my new Win7. 1.6 u14 & 1.6 u17. Then I donwnloaded the latest JRE 1.5 u22 http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/5u22/jre Now my 'Monitoring Menu' works. My question then are, why is the JRE 1.6 u14 shipped together with the TMS 12.2 if it's not possible to use it?

Mystery Tandberg Ping Response

Hi Bluefrog Not sure it'll help in your case, but we've had a lot of issues with our Juniper firewalls dropping packets, particularly things like pings and SNMP requests. Rob

Viewstation Address book...
Published (2009-12-02 10:49:00)
There was/is a bug in some versions of the Viewstation software that makes the extension field unusable. A workaround for this was to enter both the number and the extension in the number field, separated by a comma. I don't have access to a Viewstation to test this theory, but it might be worth a try.

Polycom HDX reliability
Published (2009-12-04 13:15:00)
What is everyones experience with Polycoms HDX line? I have about 120 HDX codecs and seem to have all types of funny issues with them. Keypads stop working, calls wont connect with video and audio, units lose their IP address are some examples and about 95% of the issues are fixed by rebooting the codec. I have a few Tandberg endpoints that just sit there till theyre needed and then when they are needed they just work. Anyone else...

Well if your system is ok with the other sites and you are having issues with just one site I would look at the other sites connectivity. Have them test there circuits.
The only other thing possible would be software isssues...

At this point in time, the best webcam I've found for PVX and CMA/D is the Logitech Pro 9000. You should be able to find it for less than $90 on the web.
Cheers,

Option 1 is the way I would go but I would first stop all services on the TMS so that nothing further writes to the db and then I'd backup the TMS db and store this in a safe place before you begin your upgrade/migration process.
I'd then migrate the db (not the one saved in the safe place - keep this one safe just in case) to the external SQL server which by the way needs to be a SQL Server ...

Hi Ryan,
You might want to consider the following recording devices. While these also stream they typically are cheaper than a RS2000/4000.
MediaPointe
MediaSite/Sonci Foundary
These record both a composite/s-video input and Content/VGA signal at the same time.

I would say it can be done, but it can also be very messy. What most folks do is to purchase an extra camera, display and mic setup for each room. Then at the codec they either use a switcher or just swap the cables. The other option is a cart based system that rolls from room to room.

This is due to ur cable that is connected between display and codec. plz try to fix one times more or change it. this is resolve.

IP calls utilize: (call bandwidth x 2)+10% for overhead
ISDN calls utilize the call bandwidth only on the ISDN
As it pertains to your bridge, you should set your call bandwidth per site, and add it together in that manner for either ISDN or IP.
Let us know if that answers your question.
