Video Clarity Issues

Your camcorder's high quality mode will get you less macroblocking. But it won't help with motion blur or loss of focus caused by insufficient lighting. You might be able to bring out a little detail in the shadows or of a backlit subject. Post a small sample and people here will give you suggestions on what might be done.

The best brand LCD's in recent history have been the Samsung, Sony and Sharp but other brands may contend model for model. Each brand has a tiered...

HP Laptop Advice !

Sorry, ryangarfield , I thought that was addressed to my post. Guess I should have re-read the entire thread. But I haven't had any more problems with HP/Compaq LTs than other brands. I probably use a LT for about 4 hours every day and they last a couple of years before the KB or the mechanical parts wear out. But that's about their lifetime anyway. My old HP is still running OK, but it has XP, no wireless, and most of the keyboard...

Well not exactly correct 38gig - 10% being reserve default for recycle bin is 3.8 less = 34.2 34.2 - 5% for system swap file (base line) = 32.49 Realistically you shouldn't have created another partition greater than 38 - 10% (recycle bin is first) - 24 (data) - 5% = 9.69 gig (genuine usable space) Depending on your version of partition magic If cd, boot system and restore back to single partition and avoid any options which do not...

stgdlf wrote: So when I use PS3 Video 9 to convert .avi to .mp4, does this improve the quality if I use the 1080p profile or does it stay the same or get worse? At best it appears to stay the same (i.e., visually no different). At worst, you will see a difference, and perhaps a great difference. You say nothing at all about your source. If you convert a crappy 700 MB downloaded AVI file and are expecting to get bluray quality 1080p then you...

GB-PVR Dead Channel Cleanup Help...

I use GB-PVR with my Hauppauge PVR-350 card instead of WinTV so I can have a searchable TV schedule(my wife's idea actually but I like it too). I use mc2xml.exe to get the EPG.....now here is where it gets fuzzy for me. I don't completely understand how the EPG portion of all of this works. I just downloaded the stuff, placed it where it was supposed to go inside the GB-PVR program folders and it all works.....for the most part. The...

My HD YouTube vids not coming...
Published (2009-11-21 16:00:00)
The YouTube screen is wider than 1.78:1 now. I think it's something like 2:1, so it's natural for your 1280x720 videos to also have black bars on the sides. Quote: ...they are not wide-screen They are widescreen, and the same aspect ratio as you uploaded. It's just they're not the same ratio as the screen. If for some reason you want them to fill the whole screen, make them 1440x720.

There are so many factors here that it's impossible to guess.
It involves nothing more than knowing all specs of the server and bandwidth, and using a calculator.

Bottom line is that there isn't much you can do to fix either of these problems after the fact. Posting a couple of short clips might help, but the best and only time to truly address these problems is when you shoot. If you want quality, shoot in the high quality mode. Shoot indoors with enough electric light so that external lighting changes do not affect what you shoot.
While there ...

You should probably continue this topic in your original post - crossposting is frowned upon, here.
Run the videos through a utility like MediaInfo , to see what it says about them. You might be able to simply rename the extensions.
However, I doubt it'd be possible (or easy) to hex/binary-edit the files back to what they were - do you know exactly what bits were originally ...

just tested(no install version), added some titles, one with subs, another without, one hardvcoded, another selectable.
It processed the videos with no problems, cant see anything wrong with it except for the fact that it selects 1 pass with Quenc even when i select 2 pass with HCenc , i select 2 pass with HCenc to be the default mode but it still l uses quenc 1 pass mode....

DV uses non- square pixels, and these are adjusted by your player on playback. NTSC DVD also uses 720 x 480. Just to add to the fun, 16:9 (widescreen) images are also 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 720 x 576 (PAL).
Don't know what filtering you are talking about, unless you mean de-interlacing. In which case it is only required for playback on your PC. Your TV will take care of it for you.
If...

Without knowing the film, and the version of the film, it is hard to give specifics. I can give you some general info which may answer some of your questions.
First, LFE. A lot of movies that have a 5.1 audio track have very little to nothing in the LFE channel. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is that only audio belowa certain frequency gets into the LFE, and not all ...

Drop one of them into Gspot or MediaInfo and they may give you some clues. Gspot is probably better for this. Post a screen shot of the Gspot screen here if you like. PCs can play most anything, even corrupted files or mismatched formats. With a program like VirtualDub , if it will open the files, it may tell you if there are problems with it. I don't have much faith in WMM doing much of...

A standard definition video camera only has a resolution of 720x576. Your 12 megapixel still camera has a resolution around 4000x3000. Assuming both have optics good enough for their resolution, 10x zoom on your still camera will give you better resolution than a 20x camcorder. Ie, you could just crop the still image down to ~720x576 and the bird will be bigger than it appears in the SD ...

What guide did you follow? Did you get subs right after authoring, when playing the DVD using a software DVD player (like PowerDVD )? Are you adding the episodes back into the original DVD, so you can get back the menus? And the original DVD didn't have subs? If not, did you 'turn on' the subs so that they are part of the IFOs and can be played? Lots of words but you didn't really provide much...
