Hi Sammy, You're best posting in the A4 topic for an answer on such matters. From what you've said, it sounds like one of the actuators has packed in. It's not that uncommon on A4's. I think they're about a £60 part and can be accessed by removing the glove box (about 5 8mm hex bolts, IIRC). Search the forum and you'll find other people who have had the problem and how they fixed it. Hope this helps.

The Ipod connection simulates the 6 disc external cd changer so if you have a cd playing in the single slot then press cd twice for the Ipod function or once if no cd is inserted (if I recall correctly)

Yep, i got it now, but i have found the problem before the mechanism gone, was very noisy. Dealers ask for nearly 1000 FOR PARTS and 7 hours labour, £115/hour. Sad..

This worries me a little. I have just been involved in a small RTA, the long and short being I was given false info from the 3rd party. I was not aware of this until I told my insurance company. I have told them I do not want to claim on my policy. However after reading this...

best thing to do is get diag test done on the actuators for the heater flaps for the heater problem and also check to see if the coolant is circulating.
if i remember correctly the aluminium plate is an heat sink for the rad fans and the primary/electric fan does play up.usually it will whistle when cold when air con is on after initial start .

I have noticed, and also been the brunt of, quite a lot of seriously angry people on this forum recently and as usual it always involves money. I don’t know why all of a sudden we have new members venting their spleens at VAG and the subsequent replies but I am getting tired of it. I don’t experience this on other forums; perhaps a forum with a lot of members will attract a certain number of ...

I think the problem with Americans is they're not used to corners, so they have absurdly soft suspension, and they equate engine size to speed / power / refinement. So what you end up with is an absurdly soft ride, connected to an absurdly large and unrefined engine, through an automatic gearbox that's overengineerd to take into account the weight of the car (and the American driving it :-) ) and...

They're only as good as the person that fits them really! Does the car do a lot of mileage? If it's only used a shopping car, and for local trips then it'll probably keep you going for a bit.
Why is the exhaust blowing, is it a hole or has the pipe totally gone all the way round?; if the latter a 'patch kit' probably won't solve it anyway.
I'd probably wait until a few days before your ...

Nicely, thank you. As someone who works for a courier company we'll be doing very well out of it, particularly in the run up to Christmas. Obviously, we don't carry letters the final mile like Royal Mail do, but we'll have a considerable rise from the parcels that RM would usually deliver.
The recession has forced down the rates of courier companies like ourselves to the point that for ...

Toyota posted very bad financial figures lately so it seemed inevitable.
I'm sure things will look up again once car sales pick up.

if its the rubber wire things that you see on some road (two black wires
connected to a black box), then i think and stand corrected if i am wrong
are for traffic monitoring (amount etc) as i think they use these in areas
where they may need to add crossings/lights such as around schools etc !
