I'm not sticking up for the "Twilight" films in any way. They are a disgrace. But as a fan of the original series, I will say that there's a reason that there's never any dalliance.... Which will be revealed in "Eclipse," as those who read the books already know. It will be interesting to see how they pull it off on a high-def transfer. That cropping during "Pastoral Symphony" looked really obvious and pretty lousy on a DVD, so I imagine it would look correspondingly worse on blu-ray.

2099net, if you take a magnifying glass and go watch the film through that, and sit 1 inch away from your screen, you can see the blurryness (and many other scenes that are sharp) even better. Do you enjoy the film more if you do that?

That's because she was on maternity leave. They actually filmed the last episode before the others (that she wasn't in) so that she could be in it. Thought I'd start a thread listing pre-Christmas deals on Disney DVDs and Blu-Rays as there seems to be a bunch out there this coming week. If you guys find some, feel free to post. I believe the spec for Blu-ray allows for 2 HD streams, so I suppose it could be HD, the two examples I know of (French Silent Hill BD and the Freedom Animes on HD DVD [ review ) are SD. But of course, HD DVD didn't have the bandwidth for 2 HD streams, and Silent Hill has 2 PiP streams - 3 HD streams on BD is probably pushing it. I'm ambivilent towards PiP, because most PiP is done badly. But when its done well or with a purpose it...

I'd like to see something dedicated to the female Disney characters, like a Minnie or a Daisy set. I guess I'm more of a fan of the cartoons than the live action sets.

The New Guy - The only reason I watched this movie was because it starred Eliza Dushku and Zooey Deschenal. Other than them brightening up the screen for the not-so-many scenes they were in, it was a pretty horrible movie. Just another generic high school "comedy." _________________

Those "thick grey light lines" as seen for example on the witch's cloak or Geppetto's hair are effects deliberately applied by the cel painters, to indicate stuff like shadows, texture, or extra detail. They were no longer used after Bambi (at least, not to my knowledge).
I think you may also be noticing a strange effect that I've wondered about sometimes too, in that character outlines...

We all know about the changes and transformations this movie went through. From the changed colors, to the transformed backgrounds, the removed backgrounds in the castle, scenes that are completely re-animated, etc.
But today I noticed another weird thing.
Someone told me that many scenes are actually "mirrored/flipped".
Mrs. Potts is on the left in the left in the first clip, ...

lol, I've been watching 'the many adventures of winnie the pooh' for the last 3 days straight and been thinking 'wow with the right people, a sequel would be magnificent'.
