LXDE is what won me over to Linux, because it's so simple! I couldn't believe it was Linux. All I knew was that that old computer was really fast and really simple. Every kid in the dance studio can sit right down and click their way along merrily, not worried whether it's Windows or Mac or whatever. No one even asks. But they do notice it's speed and ease. I'm one of a few that actually ...

Shame Ubuntu didn't work out for you this time. I hope Windows suits you better, but also that you quickly give up on it and come back to Linux

Thanks! With all the different confusing methods of getting sound to work, this finally did it for me. I'm using an ASUS G50Vt with kernel 2.6.26-2-amd64 and I got things to work with model=g50v. I'm on Debian 5.0.2 (lenny) but of course it's similar enough to work (actually, I don't know if this script is even distro-dependant ).

In the general case, if you have two classes that depend on each other and one dependency is only on references or pointers, you can forward declare one of them before declaring the other, and define the methods after both are declared: Code: struct X; struct Y { Y( X & other ); // arguments (passed by pointer/reference/value are allowed) X f(); // return values are ...

We've come 21 pages and the debate still goes on. Bottom Line : There is no password required for accessing root shell. Advice : There SHOULD be a password..I mean come on , people who use Ubuntu regularly , why cant they enter a friggin password of say 12 characters once when they screw up their PC ?
