I'm thinking seriously of going -- followed by a family vacation -- but I'm not really happy with that outdoor pool being only 3.6 ft (1.1m) deep at one end.

I wasn't planning to go,but now I may be able to,so I checked the event order and see the MRs are the first event on 2 days with the Mixed MR the event right before the 100 BR.Not to sound like anyone else who complains about event order,but yuck.

I can:
1) Play the " William Tell Overture" by flicking my fingers against either my cheeks or my throat.
2) Turn my eyelids backwards so the underside of the lids face out.
3) Roll my eyes up completely so only the whites show.
4) Burp at will.
5) Make a sound like water dripping by flicking my cheek.
In my defense, I went to an all-boys High School and this sort of thing was ...

Hey there! Per Mark Gill at USMS LCM Nationals, yes, this series is scheduled to return for 2009. Info. is typically posted here, but they have yet to post anything: http://www.tyrgrandprix.com/ . If you use the FINIS snorkel, you are generally getting LESS air than before. Especially if you put on the flow restrictor.
I like them okay. Breathing really changes your stroke, so it is nice to take it out of the equation and work on other aspects of technique. It tends to make your stroke more symmetrical so if you have a weak side, this can help. (Breathing to your less-dominant side ...

I do a drill that is 2 strokes fly, 2 strokes breast. it helps to reinforce how close the strokes are. I've not tried just the kicks, but think it might serve the same purpose. The drill is Dennis Baker's, not one I cooked up on my own, but it's proven to be a good one for me.

I feel swimming is very beneficial for people with arthritis. I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 15 years (I am 30yo). I started swimming at 18 which was 3 years after my diagnosis. I still swim to this day doing Masters workouts. I usually wake up in the morning very stiff and in a lot of pain. After I get going, I hit the pool and my joints feel SO much better. But, having arthritis means...
