Toybox, I removed the previous threads because you're starting a pointless fight with a moderator. Check your PMs. Edit: Hint - the moderator is me. __________________ And no, Guitar Hero will not help. Even on expert. Really.

I tend to only talk about things that I either like or hate, things that I'm indifferent to are usually not interesting enough to be worth talking about. Anyway, this isnt about what I said, it's about what you did. Your somewhat predictable by now rhetoric detracts from the point.

starting bass

Read the FAQ, it will answer all your questions. For an actual recommendation, for $200, the Ibanez GSR200 is probably the best new bass you can do. You might manage to find a slightly higher end bass used for $200. Muster up another $100-$150 or so for a practice amp, and look at Peaveys, the Acoustic B20, or the Kustom KBA10.

first act guitars are horrible. they don't stay in tune, have intonation problems and sound like a toy. if you're looking for a smaller guitar, you might want to consider the little martin, baby taylor or the martin backpacker. or there's the washburn rover http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/...tar-?sku=511819 which is actually pretty cool. or how about http://www.go-guitars.com/guitars.html ? their odd looking travel guitars...

I think it'd be more rip-off-ish to sand off the logo and re-finish it
you can use a jackson neck if you like, but it'd just be a lot easier for people to mistake it as a jackson kelly, and not a custom one you built. I'd go for it if you can find a cheap-ish one on ebay or something
for the hardware, go to somewhere like allparts.com

Get a squier one if you do. It's cheaper and not as bad to mess up. Try not to get an affinity one though, they are utterly shit.

Honestly, realistically, probably a no on that one. Something like a good ol' no nonsense Fender would suite all my needs. The craziest thing I could see myself going for would be along the lines of a Steinberger. If I ever decide to go the boutique-ish road, and have an enormous amount of money lying around, I'll build the bass myself for half the cost of a boutique instrument

And.... GO! I think this would probably be the first "Chat" thread in any of the Instruments section forums. This probably wouldn't work in any other forum, so lets not abuse this privilege(I guess you could call it)
Anyway, how's life y'all?

Speed is a byproduct of accuracy. Simply practice the desired passage to perfection at a low tempo, then increase to the speed at which you are practicing it slowly until you can play it at the desired tempo.

Borderlands is awesome!!
It is so addicting, I can tell already. The multiplayer is great, the enemies get stronger the more you fill out your party, so teamwork is a must.
