Well I did one in my buddy's 06 but he didnt have the cylinder deactivation. That is a tricky one. The LS1 cam gives it more lift and duration but not enough to put stronger springs. So im thinkin you are wanting pretty hot??

Can't go wrong with a Chevy or GMC Duramax/Allison. 2005 or 2006. The reliability and stats tell it all: 365 BHP 686 Lb/tq. 20,000lb towing capacity Plus they don't even get broken in until around 100,000 miles. Duramax's will run for a good 500,000 easily.

2000 Silverado 1500 sticky throttle
Published (2009-11-26 10:22:00)
I've had the same problem with sticking but mine came clear when I used carb cleaner to clean a ring of deposits inside the TB bore. If it moves freely when the engine is off it would have to be the butterfly is closing too tightly. Can you push the butterfly closed with your finger to see if it will stick then? Any slop in the butterfly..... Maybe polish the edges of the butterfly to a smooth any roughness. I don't know what else it...

I would probably be happy with the 40 horse and more torque just as you mentioned earlier. The '07 Crew is much heavier than my '04 extended cab I had , at least it feels that way. I am just looking for someone that has swapped a cam or lifters with AFM.. I can tell you if I knew this in advance I would not have bought the vehicle with this engine. We even have the problems with the exhaust on the vehicle with AFM...sounds like crap...

Engine RPM

Just took my truck (O2 1500HD 6.0 Liter w/ 3.73 rear end) on a trip and it seems like my truck may be turning more RPM than what I am used to. This is the first trip with this truck, but I had the identical truck before. I am turning about 2900 RPM at 75 MPH. Is this high? This ad is not displayed to registered members. fuel gauge trouble
Published (2009-11-24 11:56:00)
Had same trouble on my 90 F-250. if the truck still runs when you switch to front tank then selector is working fine. In my situation what happened was that floater was getting stuck with wires that go in the tank along with fuel pump so it was not moving. I droped tank and cleared wires a way from the floater and that fixed the problem, But I should of used a zip tie or something to hold them tight becasue now it happened again so I'm...

Well that is pretty close to average. The best things you can do is Cold Air Intake, Tune, Exhaust, Synthetic Oil, and also replace the O2 sensors every 100k at least.

This is for a diesel truck but the key switch will be the same. It may give you some ideas. Good luck.

sounds like you have a shift problem assuming that you set the TPS right...........i would have a tranny shop look at it....the 4l60e the (4l80e's little brother) has the same problem when they start to get over about 80,000 miles on them.....does it shift at all? or does it stay in first gear?? My advice is have the tranny checked out or change the fluid and filter first....my money is on a ...

I put a stock LS1 cam in my 2001 5.3 and noticed a big difference. That with a Tune it came out to an extra 40 hp.

Just go to the dealer and get a new one - they're too thin to 'repair' and relatively cheap.

Great year!!! Welcome to the forum
Yeah mines pretty much stock except for the dual exhaust, toolbox, OOOooga horn, and Euro Taillights. I gotta tell you, those taillights look absolutely stunning on this body style truck. Feel free to post some pics of yours.

My Yukon that was so much fun is officially gone...
As you may have heard it was carjacked Sunday evening 11/22/09 at 5:45pm near 3rd St.@Attayac St. in Austin, Tx. The suspect armed with a 9MM jumped out of a black suburban and demanded the keys from my wife just as she exited our Yukon after arriving at a relatives house.
Here's the aftermath.

Yeah that is. The rear end would at least have to be 4.10's with stock tires. With 3.73's at 75mph you should only be turning about 2300 with stock tires. Check it by jacking up the rear end and using chalk marks.

To rule it out, either bypass it, or drain all the anifreeze and run the engine to normal temp with heater on and see if it does smell. Without anifreeze you can run it a couple mins just to see if it is the heater core.
