I'm having the same issue. The people I'm talking to find the feedback painful. I tried out my bro's pre headphones and I was still having the problem. I'm thinking about heading to sprint tomorrow after work to see what they have to say.

Here are all of the Pre Specific hash codes that I have confirmed. There are more out there, so I will keep hunting, and edit this post as I find more...but this one does not include the treo/centro codes that do not work.

I've had a lot of smart phones and I always want the newest thing, but I still don't plan on jumping ship at least for another 9 months. I'm hoping in that time frame a new Pre comes out. I've never had so much fun with a phone as I've had with the Pre.
Just my 2 cents, but if the phone doesn't work for you get what does. What's the point of complaining about it?

Oh, and if you want it to go directly to your Google Voice voicemail without waiting a few extra rings after it forwards make sure you do this in Google Voice:
Click Settings
Click the Phones tab
Click the Edit button under your mobile number
Click Show Advanced Settings
Scroll to the bottom and under Forwarding Options select Go straight to voicemail

Wow a lot of very specific ideas. Yes seems as the other thread we have mainly is an argument to avoid doing much of anything, this thread is a welcome change. I would hope we could address all the topics you brought up here. First off, if we increase the number of doctors trained in med schools, wwouldnt that lead to a lot of out of work doctors? And who would pay? Would we subsidize med schools...

Based on rwhitby's findings that temporarily moving /var/usr/palm/applications will allow installing apps from the App Catalog, here's a permanent way to keep the apps on (much larger) /media/internal by using links. This will permanently save space on /var.
- create a dir
mkdir /media/internal/apps
- create a script to move apps to new home and create link
vi /usr/bin/mvapp

I've got both phones and while I have no idea what the Sprint HERO will be like, I can tell you that my GSM Hero is nice but I like the Pre better. Android seems to have a problem with the memory becoming very fragmented (leaks perhaps) after about a day of usage. I downloaded a program that allows me to close apps but you have to watch it very closely or else the devices gets very sluggish ...

one thing i just noticed is that under a contact for IM address they have yahoo google msn jabber icq qq and skype, and when I click on a contacts IM name for yahoo, it opens up the messenger app. how odd. that they would program the phone to do that, when its not supported yet for that IM service.
