They're not too bad to do, probably easier than the 2L-TE. You can probably do it yourself and depending where you go the seal kit may cost you a whole $20. I was given the part no of DKVE01 by the local Denso agency

Turned out to be the air con system blew a seal(o ring) so $90 later and all fixed(new o ring and re gas) ED

As it turns out... the lengthy "free quote" I was given to fix the strange electrical issue which included replacement of the compressor, drier, clean of the evaporator, re-re-gas (since it had been done a couple of weeks ago) etc etc was not really that specific to my car. When I went in to the shop to pick up the car there was another quote on the desk for word-for-word the same thing as my "free quote". The only thing...

I have a question, sorry about being a pain in the - - - - but do you need to bleed the injector lines on the first start up, because you would have a fair bit of air to get rid of before they would start spraying fuel nicely down the ports, or does it sort of bleed itself via the return line to the tank. I have never had anything to do with EFI so I am scratching. Clive.

I am in the same boat. When under (almost) full lock there is a clanking sound coming from the front, I guess left. A few weeks ago we applied grease on the stoppers and it was almost gone. But now it is back again. Might have a feel at the shafts. If it is a cv, is it something you could do yourself?

What you say makes sense to me. Another thing that can impede airflow through the radiator is big bullbars, winches and massive driving lights mounted directly in front of the radiator. Air finds it a bit difficult to pass through these things,

This is on my list of things to do. That banjo fitting sure is in a pig of a spot!
I'd be (very) interested to hear how you went about it.
I'm embarrassed to tell you how many months I've been putting off doing this job - have the bits but not looking forward to it. _________________ Michael & Julie-Anne

Guys, thought I would tell you about the new radiator...
Bought an aluminium radiator for my 2LTE LN130 SSR Ltd. Ordered on tuesday, arrived on friday. Not too bad.
Radiator seemed to be pretty well constructed, welds pretty good etc. Came with fittings for the transmission cooler etc, if you have one. Mine is a manual so the two little holes at the bottom of the radiator are ...

Three other things come to mind.
Check the key switch in the tail gate is ok and hasn't collapsed the contacts or is stuck.
Check the tail gate lock switches on either side.
Check the rear wiper is sitting properly in it's cradle. _________________ R.A.G 4X4

Hi Everyone,
My 93 Surf SSR-X 2.4 2L-TE is running straight coolant for reasons which you've probably not heard of before.
About 2 years ago i was driving a new Kenworth T404SAR, CAT 550 3406E, running from Melbourne to Bairnsdale 5 - 6 days a week towing a " B-Double with pneumatic tankers with 38 tonne of pie and pastry flour to Pattie's foods. (They make 4 n'20 pies)

If this is the case - whats involved, what do i need and how much will it set me back if i don't do it?
The engine is a 3L 1kz - is this a b!...

there is an electrical plug on your aircon compressor, sounds like either it has become unplugged or there may be a broken wire in the circuit, check to see its plugged in first. _________________ BLUE: '92 SSR-X 2L-TE 4 speed auto

Hello
My engine has been running with nonfunctional VSV's found on the intake side since the day i bought it. ( were removed recently and put in the bin)
After reading on this forum about a smoother shutdown, i have decided to make the shutdown butterfly work , by installing a new VSV for it.
So please guide me about how to do the wiring for the VSV. I.E. to do the ...

Hey everyone, I am looking at raising my truck up around 40mm as i have been told 50mm you can start running into problems with travel in the front. I have been to the trusty 4x4 shop that has done a bit of work on my truck recently and he said he could do a full suspension lift with a wheel alignment with RAW shocks and i am not sure about the brand of the springs for $1113 AUS. He said the he ...

G'day
Its time to do a few things to my 91 4runner. Top ball joints are on there way out, needs discs machining, new pads, reckon it needs a steering dampner (has a little shake at 80kays) and needs new shocks. So while i'm replacing the htings i need to have i may aswell give it a 2" lift.
So the questions are:
Steering dampner brand .........
Shock brand .......... Dont ...

I started driving to work tonight and after 1km I could smell burning rubber (I'm in a surf don't forget it wasn't the tyres).
I stopped and checked the belts. The a/c belt was hot and there was smoke around that area , the adjustment is on the bottom pulley right?
This is the same belt that goes through the steel wheel , belt tensioner i think pls confirm.
The belt itself doesn't look ...

this has interested me quite a bit. i will disconnect the batteries (with my switch) overnight. i will report back tomorrow.
what i have noticed sometimes, is that one day it will run great, no smoke on acceleration (not petal to the floor obviously, just leaving a red light for example), no engine vibration, stays at lower revs, lower egt's, SMOOTHER in general.

First the new starter motor - maybe its drawing less current, maybe the old starter motor was drawing so much current that the battery voltage was dropping low enough to stop the ECU (or its Spill Valve drive) from working properly hence the bad start.
Second the long glow plug issue. I don't think that the 2L-TE circuit has a second relay with resistor to keep glow plug on for ...
