It would be very close.

I noticed my GT4 had a small valve that vented into the chassis rail next to the engine. It allows vapor out of the tank, but not back in.

Hi, See this..... I'm getting something similar on Trini when I get her back, except it's going to be Baulkham Hills Shopping Centre Car Park... 'cos if you can find your way out, once you get into there, then you deserve respect and some award or moniker to show your skills. If you ever go there, just make sure you got at least 1/4 a tank of juice to make sure you can get out.... plus you need to be good a mazes. seeyuzz river

I can't see it working very well mate? The expansion chamber seems pretty critical in a 2 strokes performance so how would you cater for that?
Plus the operating environment isn't very oil drain friendly for a gravity drained turbo...once you add the required return pumps etc to make it work, the complexity will be high and therefore potentially unreliable.
I'm not saying it can't be ...

Remember that the tank will still need to breathe, so you will still need a breather line open to atmosphere. I probably wouldn't use a fuel filter as it is designed for filtering liquid rather that air, so don't know how effective it would be, you could hit up your local parts shop for emissions-type filters (eg for engine breathers, catch tanks etc), but not sure how small they would go. Or ...

I believe that the 2jzgte head will bolt strait up, you will need a larger headgasket to lower compression.
What pistons are in the engine right now? You would need some that are made for high power turbo setups. You should get a aftermarket ecu if you want to be toying around with huge power.
Really a 2jz head is a lot better then the 1j, all in all if you are after bucketloads of power-

There is a great article about Toyota alternators here:
http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/h8.pdf
You will find that there are too many wires in your TA22 loom as the old 2T alternators ran with an external regulator. You will need to sort our which of your wires you will need to keep and which can be ditched (if you haven't already).
I re made a TA22 wiring diagram that should be ...

mate if you are going to o ring the block use a annealed copper head gasket . i have used normal monotorque head gaskets with an o ringed block and when you up the boost the fire ring splits in half. its also a good idea to use head studs to get a bit more clamp and a good spray of copper coat on the head ,block and gasket, but make sure everything is right when you torque the head because copper...

I'm gonna put down some interest, not so much to compete, but to help you guys with preperation. I have just recently started my own business. If all goes to plan i will be pretty well set up for cars by Jan or feb, (I'm already set up for engines its the easy part). But I ...

Take a look at trents 1g ke30.
http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=368 39
One thing i know causes problems is the harmonic balancer, you need th machine the front pulleys of so its a single pulley only, otherwise its to long. But maybe ask trent for some details of his setup?

For the cost of a fuel pump (<$200) just buy a new one anyway.
Also try a different ECU.

First problem sounds like a tune issue. Cranking fuel or timing (or both) isn't set properly. You can also set up post-start enrichment (from memory) to keep it running once it turns over. I'm afraid I don't have much tuning experience so if it were me I'd take it someone who does.
