Fermi pictured running DX11!!!!!!!
Published (2009-11-19 19:33:00)
What we saw back in June was a 57xx based card, and they most likely had them running with 4770s at TSMC. So, it took them 3 months for release. If A3 started awiles back, it still wont be til January late til we see cards, and not til end of dec maybe before we see any real perf leaks IMHO

Good ATI video card on a budget

IF you have a decent PSU I'd say a 4770. A 4850 is a little more powerfull if you can find one for a price you like.

Athlon X4 620 Temperatures
Published (2009-11-19 23:03:00)
There is too much of a gap between idle and LOAD. I suspect its your thermal compound causing the issue. For example my CPU idles at 35c and LOAD temps never exceed 47c .... I use speedfan and core-temp and both show the same temps....

The keyboard is firm with only a minor bit of flex detected near the "Enter" key. All the keys have excellent travel and cushion. Unlike the Studio 17, which featured a dedicated number pad, the fullsize keyboard on the Studio XPS 16 looks smaller than it...

I couldn't find the driver, it looks like it's a very specialized Camera. Why don't you contact Olympus support, I guess it should be very easy for them to email you the driver.

FSX puts more demand on the CPU than the video card - Quad core is a
must... so looks ok. Whic OS are you planning to use ?
Vista & Windows 7 will give you better visuals as FSX was coded to take
advantage of DX10

Well, the ATi DX 11 cards are already here and are fantastic. nVidia is
joining the party sometime between Jan 26 and late April (We just know it's
the first quarter of their next fiscal year).
If you already have a high end card from the ATi HD 4xxx or nVidia GTX 2xx
series then I would wait on DX 11 for a while. It's almost never worth the
investment going from high end to high end from one ...

Well, I found the search feature on my ubcd disk and found the outlook.pst
file as well as the archive.pst.
I suppose my next step is to just reinstall and re-buy software if I can't
find it and hope it was a software issue and not hardware. I was planning
on upgrading this machine but money got tight at the company so I gotta get
it working.

It's supported on any 64 bit CPU, so long as you're also in a 64 bit OS.
I'm running Solidworks 2009 Student Edition on my i7 right now in Windows 7
x64.
(Get as much RAM as you can afford by the way - I've used over 10GB while
meshing or running finite element simulations).

What are the other components in the system?
What will the computer be used for?
If gaming, what games?

The i7 wins every one of those, most by a sizable margin. Make sure you
look at each benchmark - in some of them, lower is better.

I can't answer all the questions as I don't own an i5 system and
peripherals aren't really my "thing."
2. If you want lower access times, you're going to have to go with
shortstroking a large HDD, or just go with an SSD. Shortstroking is an
extremely inefficient band-aid fix for the hopeless access times of platter
HDDs, and it means you sacrifice most of your HDD capacity for the improved

The dual core solution would give you slightly longer battery life and
better performance in games, but the i7 would be more powerful in
multi-threaded programs. Considering what you want to do, personally I
would go with the dual core.
