GO730 FM problems

Try using it with the mp3 player going and it will work fine, if you don't want to hear music simply instal a silent mp3 track and select that to play all the time - Mike

Thanks for the info on the 630. Didn't think about the price guarantee idea, but that may save some waiting and discomfort. I wonder if BB has such a policy. Anyhoo, just talked to a support agent at TT and she said the only difference between the 720 and 730 is that voice input is available on the 730 but not on the 720. This is counter to what I've read elsewhere (including here, ala Mike), where I've read that the 720 ships...

North America Map ver. 840
Published (2009-11-23 18:01:00)
I kind of expect the map release will slip into the first part of December. But in any case, the update should be quite soon. And don't look for LMG to be working very well. How many "latest maps" do you think TomTom wants to give to $59 devices sold on Black Friday?

I have a lot of experience with GPS but this is my first TomTom, only had it a couple of days. My unit repeats the problem every time, but it works okay if I don't try the interstate first.

A newer map 840 is due out soon. Perhaps you should wait a couple of days.

There are loads of different ways to navigate to a POI although the device will only list the nearest 24 or 48 depending upon device and software version, the center point for the search can be via a point on the map, in a city or near to your known location etc. A custom POI file can contain thousands of individual locations and they can each be stored with a phone number where applicable - ...

I'm not good with POI's, but here is the official map:

I went to school in UVA, and even though I've never been on the parkway, there are signs to it 50 miles away in all directions. Also, it's in the mountains, there aren't many other roads in the area where you can accidentally get lost once you're on the parkway.

Per cnet , Tomtom has submitted an app update that includes the addition of TTS, lane guidance, reality view, and safety cameras.
Tomtom told cnet the update (once approved by apple) will be free to existing app owners, and the new app will sell for the same $99 when purchased new.

8.35 is the current map version. The automated LMG is very hit and miss. Either call TomTom, or open a ticket on their web site and they will get you the 8.35 map.

Your device will need updating to the latest Navcore and then you need to purchase a new map then you will get the Lane Assist/ reality view.

I don't know the TT One but would guess that higher end phones, capable of IQ Routes would take that into consideration.
Do you have the option to Avoid part of route and then select the road you do not want?
That may have to be done more than once to get it exactly how you want it but, even then it is a one off deal unless you make that route an itinerary and select it the next time you ...
