Okay. We found a room! The three garage sales we visited, provided the basics to make it comfortably livable. We will have to agree on some of the larger purchases, and some of the color schemes, but I think we are off to a good start. It is important to take enough romper breaks. Wow...it feels like home already. I think the heart has a lot to do with that....

I'm looking into a shotgun for home safety, b/c of higher armed-entry robberies recently around where I live. I'm a grad student, so I'm trying to keep costs down under 400, and have been looking at Mossberg 500 tacticals (my personal favorite so far being the 8-shot cruiser) but I'd be lying if I said I knew what to go looking for (considering I haven't shot a gun since I was 10). Any other ...

...at least, any Chinese-made goods to be ingested into the body, human or otherwise. What we're dealing with now are Chinese companies/factories that are so corrupt and greedy, they produce milk and milk products tainted with melamine, an industrial chemical – and not accidentally, mind you! – that has resulted in tens of thousands of children getting seriously ill. This sinks lower, ...

You go to a sandwich shop and they have just about any cold cut, (ex. if you like rare roast beef they got it), hot sandwich you can long for with just about any dressings, vegetable, type of bread.... Given the scope, what will you probably always order? and what's the standby if they don't happen to have your first pick? Do you get a pickle? Potato Salad? Cole Slaw? Macaroni Salad? ...

Now that all the hurrah is over, I'm just curious on how many were for or against the $700 billion bailout and if you'll let that affect how you will be voting. I must admit I'm not very knowledgeable about politics, but the bailout has really gotten under my skin. I understand that we're in hard economic times. However, this bailout doesn't seem to be a comprehensive solution and further...

Quote: View: Fry, Baby Source: Nytimes posted with the TFP thread generator Fry, Baby October 5, 2008 The Way We Eat: 10-5-08 Fry, Baby By KELLY ALEXANDER Its tricky to claim that eating a ring of fried dough will improve your life. But Jacques Chiron, the creator of the biodiesel-fueled AstroTurf car, says its so. He recently told ...

Popular Mechanics has posted a list of 100 Skills that every Man should have. I am going to ignore the gender specificity of their article and ask the TFP of all genders... how many of these skill are in your repertoire? (I have bolded the ones I can do) Automotive 1. Handle a blowout 2. Drive in snow 3. Check trouble codes 4. Replace fan belt 5. Wax a car...

Good news! Metallica has released the first single off their new album "Death Magnetic." Take a listen over at their website: Metallica.com "The Day That Never Comes" I love it. I'm a fan of St. Anger as well, but I realize I'm a minority in that respect. Either way, the solos are back, and I believe Metallica has produced another excellent album, if this first single is any ...

Well, E left back for PA today, so I'm all by my lonesome until at least 2009. I know there are at least a handful of Houstonians here. Who's down for a get together?

I love it. Ditto, I always wanted to live in a tree house. One day. I admire Mr. Singh. I also love that water tap message. Convey the message without saying anything. Live with the living. Thanks for the post!

The bailout has officially failed in the House. The GOP are now being called unpatriotic, when even Dem Reps voted against it. This has reelection ramifications and Presidential ramifications. If it were so great, why are even some Dems so against it?

It's been several years since I wore a watch. I'm not sure if that's normal. Almost everyone I know has them. I have them but they sit in a drawer in my house. They are pretty but I don't care for them much. I'm pretty high strung, so the added pressure of a watch seemed to get on my nerves. One day I forgot my watch. I didn't miss it. Increasingly, I'd forget to wear one. Until I stopped ...
