i agree with whitebeam, let the wheel do the cutting, dont push too hard and check that your wheel has plenty of bite left on it. replacement wheels can be bought for a few quid but they are usually an inferior quality, buy the best you can and you will be amazed at the difference

Hi there, Hope i have put this in the right place? I was wondering if you would insist for a De-Coupling membrane to be used in this situation.. The floors have been recently screeded 6 weeks ago with sand and cement and the floor has under floor heating in stalled, I have tested the floor with a damp meter and it is dry, so no worries there, the under floor heating is also not been turned...

Hi All Im a newbie to DIY tiling and need some advice please. We've recently re-fitted our bathroom and Im not onto the tiling stage. Ive done most of the walls and am now onto the floor. The issue I have is that the floor is 20mm tongue & groove chipboard, which in my ignorance looked nice and flat and so I thought would be a good base to tile to having screwed it down solidly and sealed...

You can see a little more in my introduction where I said hello. Anyway. I am about to tear out my...

Hello there this is my first post and as I am a wife and mum please explain your advice as basically as you can. Went to Topps Tiles and got an approved fitter to fit our travertine tiles. Unhappy with him and asked him to leave. He had sealed the tiles but not laid any. Rang Topps senior manager who agreed to supply another fitter or full refund but we would have to return the tiles to him. I ...

Having done quite alot of tiling I took the plunge and went on a course. Now I know that although it doesn't teach you everything (in my view it's like a driving licence, you pass then learn when on the road!), but I decided to take the plunge and am just about to go it alone. There's loads of cowboys out there and I do a good job, so I know I can make a go of things and churn out high-end ...
