Risk/benefit of the CCSVI...

Hey Bob, I also cannot fault your post and it is true that people need to make an informed decision when it comes to CCSVI and not be swept along by the current hysteria. I just hope that CCSVI is the anwser and that the risks that are unfolding in this early stage can be overcome to provide a routine and safe procedure.

It probably sounds silly but even though nothing has been proven, in light of the existence of the CCSVI theory, it almost has seemed that a little weight is off my chest and the world is a little brighter. In our case my wife is doing very well and we don't...

I am the caregiver to my Dear wife Gayle who was D/X three months ago. Discovered this wonderful site last weekend. Some have asked about CCSVI -MRI. We live in Niagara Penninsula. We are having CCSVI test done next Monday in Buuffalo [cost 500.00 US] We are working through Don/Bev Hamilton -Smith who are based in Canada They require a requisition from your GP, Neurologist, or Specialist. Thank you cheerleader, and my apologies as I am new to this venue and the ettiquetes, so if I err please say. My daughter is currently being seen by a neurologist at the Dalhousie MS clinic and, as far as I understood, the technology is not available but may be soon ...albeit through private clinics only. Robert Berry was not suggested to me as a resource and I will be sure to contact him tomorrow. If anyone has any success locating further...

Wow. You have just made me feel ignorant! I don't have any health insurance so I will be footing this. I am able to see a wonderful GP for $20 who is very supportive and will get on board with what I need. There are so many levels to check. You know I have had MS for 16 years and in that time I have gone through a lot of neuros and I have never had bllod work done...except to check liver enzymes while on 'roids. I have put too much...

MRV Testing in Canada
Published (2009-11-26 08:43:00)
Has anyone in Canada been able to get through anywhere to get MRV testing? I've heard 'no' everywhere I've asked so far. Not giving up. I'm willing to go to our neighbours over the border and pay to get one done. Ideas? Suggestions? hope you're all having a nice day! best wishes!

Thanks guys. Jimmylegs, it surely was a nice place to live off blvd Alexandre-Taché. I used to go to the bike path along the river. That bike path is the place where we have MS Walk every year at the end of April.

UBC MS clinic info??
Published (2009-11-26 18:35:00)
The Neuro I was assigned is Dr. Traboulsee (Tony). Great guy, easy to talk to, and very thorough! I actually briefly talked with 5 Dr's, they all seemed very approachable. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the clinic. Mike

hi austin, yes i have experienced and read about cognitive issues in ms.
i came to ms after 15 years of veganism so at first i tried to figure out how to be the healthiest possible vegan and then i decided instead to eat ominvorously, in the healthiest way for my body-as-ecosystem, and try to repair previous damage with therapeutic doses of supplements.

Welcome BBen..... Like you, I have a highly stressful, physically demanding job (Law Enforcement). I to, depend on it for the money and health insurance. I can just imagine, most of us are in the same position. Only difference is, I am in my early forties. I don't know, but I would think the physical part of the job shouldnt aggrivate the MS, but rather, keep your body in shape; so to speak. Now...

That's interesting.
I wonder where they got the idea from.
I use Rebif and I've been at about 2600 IU of vitamin D on my own and I think it helps.

Mrs George, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby, that must be so hard to cope with let alone dealing with the MS.
Nurses/Dr's I think make judgements and they don't really know what classification you are with MS. Heck I don't even believe in the classifications as people have managed to heal themselves from SP/PP which is meant to be impossible. I know myself that I fit ...

Hi again, I have just been reading further into this thread, and am wondering who you are referring to when you mentioned 'Dake's Team at Stanford" in a an earlier post? Forgive me for barging in like this but as you may well imagine this is a very difficult position to be in as a parent. Knowing there is a potential structural cause and an intervention by which it could be rectified to make ...
