That said there is nothing to stop you retreating from society is you want to, simply that most will not and would not wish to and it...

I particularly like Matthew 28:18-20...baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is tantamount to saying that they are one and the same.

I believe in them rationally?? Okay, seriously, both of us start with a presupposition that needs to be pointed out. You, I assume (and I hope not wrongly), start with the assumption of naturalism and configure the evidence accordingly. I, conversely, start with the assumption that there may be explanations that extend beyond the natural. Thus, things like snakes talking and men ...

These only arguably show that God can know our actions before hand - and that, providing WE make the decision, we are still responsible regardless of God's foreknowledge. NONE of these show that if we have no choice in our decisions that we are responsible for our actions. The fault for actions lies on the decision maker. Or is it the gun that kills? Is the shooter innocent? Or should we ...

All too often they ran into each other resulting in confusion but you seem to have nailed the "trinity" of the individual much as I would like to see it explained. tWINs

A secular society need not be spiritually sterile or impotent. It only has to be secular- free of overt religious mandates, not from the influence of religion only from its enforcement.

God gave us freewill - the ability to choose for ourselves. He did this because he desired a loving relationship with us, which of course requires freewill (can your computer love you?). In order for freewill to exist, we must have options. The bible says to keep God's commandments is to love him. God placed the tree in the garden to provide the alternate option - to obey God and his commandment...

In light of the recent Ft. Hood tragedy , perpetrated by a Muslim, I am wondering about the guidelines in our military. In WWII, we would not have allowed Germans to join our armed forces, correct? Knowing that they might be spies, and likely would not have the same goals that we did. Why, then, would we have Muslims in our military? I'm sure there are a lot of nuances to this ...
