GFOK: live holiday greenery/plants
Published (2009-11-29 18:44:06)
I'd like to order a live plant of some festive holiday sort for some family members in San Francisco. Does anyone have recommendations for sources or varieties? Harry & David is my usual go-to for stuff like this, but they only had one live pine tree (with little stuffed polar bears on it; totally not their taste). I'm thinking evergreens--something Christmasy that could maybe be planted outside later? Ideas/leads? Thanks!!

Morning all! Have fun at TSO, Ann! Last night, Lothar was adjusting OK at the vet's. They all just loved him, since he was being sweet to them, wanting nose rubs and petting. This morning, they called to tell us that he ate some kibble last night. That's the first he's eaten since Tuesday, and I'm so happy to have good news before I fly back to CA today.

GFOK: Windows 7
Published (2009-11-29 22:30:49)
DH has Vista on his computer. He bought Windows 7 for it last weekend and is *still* trying to get it loaded onto his computer. Is there some magic way of doing this? He has moved all his stuff to another drive and still it will not load properly. I am thinking if it is this difficult to load then I am going to stick with XP forever.

Tiger Woods' car accident...

And it may not have been due to his return from China. Perhaps someone in the family was ill, and they didn't have the appropriate medicine to treat the illness. He does have a baby in the house, after all, and I know DH made several late night runs when DD was little, because we were out of something we thought we had. Maybe he was being a regular, normal person ... Charisse

I just did one black friday sale this year - online! Got up at 3am to log onto the site when orders began, ordered the item I wanted for an excellent deal, and then went back to bed. Spent the rest of the day doing next to nothing and stitching. Shear bliss.

In college, I was research assistant to a boorish, sexist buffoon of an anthropology professor. What made it worse was that he actually *liked* me. I can't
remember what it paid, but I remember being *enormously* relieved my junior year when I finally qualified for work-study, and got a job working at the state
historical magazine (which didn't end up being that much of a step up, actually.)....

Where did everybody go? It's noon here and there's only one new post since I checked last night?
Well it's amazing what a good night's sleep will do for you when you're sick. I'm not feeling fabulous, but I'm feeling much more together
today than I did yesterday.

Poor baby! It will certainly be an aggravation while it lasts, but luckily will heal quickly.

Also try Ann Taylor Loft online...the selection may not be great, but the
maternity dresses do look nice. And I really like their look.

Can't believe I didn't post to this the first time around... My user name is the name of my college D&D character. I retired her when she was
adopted by the pantheon as the new Goddess of Chaos.
When I first got on the internet, my paranoid friends convinced me to resurrect her so that I didn't post my real name anywhere online. Now more people
know me as Stasha than know me under my real ...

I will be sleeping in on Friday and enjoying my husband's waffles for breakfast. Unless there was a very expensive item I really, really needed - like
a major appliance - I won't go out. My Christmas shopping was done as of Sunday.

"triage housekeeping" describes mine most of the time.
Stuff that gets done regularly:
- dishes (DH loads, I unload )
- trash/recycling out (trash twice weekly, recycling weekly)
- mail sorted (daily)
- laundry (weekly)
I'd ideally like to have the living room picked up daily, but I've discovered that tween girls (and indeed most kids) are entropic catalysts....
And I can't ...

No, you are not the only one. And I think trash picking is just about perfect! I hope that reality show she's trying to get on drops her like a hot
potato. They sound like over-aged celebrity groupies to me.
