Quote from: Paul C on Today at 09:22:16 AM It's not the cops/security job to stop the fans from being fans. That's a joke. And it ticked me off when I saw it happen, too... exactly. the students are starting to be great. The cheerleaders are now quiet during our freethrows and start shaking things when the other team is at the line. There were some possesions at the end that started a nice Deee Fense...

So, if the NCAA does it in a way that halfway makes sense (an approach that is not required for them), seeds 13-16 will host seeds 20-17 in the first round, with seeds 1-12 getting byes. Remember, the teams out of the top four BID for the games. Our Thanksgiving attendance has been pretty poor historically, and our conservative athletic dept will bid very low, just in case we have another 4K turnout. ...

Quote from: gman on Today at 05:40:59 AM Tebow is a class act. I don't see how anyone could pull against him. If you had a young son that needed someone to look up to, Tebow would be that guy. Did any of you naysayers watch the ESPN segment yesterday morning in which Tebow befriended a family that had a young son to die on the field? Tebow did things like that all of the time. He didn't do it to make himself look...

Montana has made it to the Final 6 times, all in the last 14 years, losing on 4 of the trips including last year and winning on 2 of them including over us in 2001 and over Marshall in 1995. If they beat ASU Saturday, they will be going this year to their 7th Final in 15 years. Richmond last year won on their first Final trip; and ASU won the 3 previous years, ASU's "only" Final ...

Quote from: mat on Today at 12:45:50 PM I had thought the App State-Richmond game was going to be on ESPN or ESPN2 but not according to the Greenville News or the Charter website. Oh well. If you have registered on ESPN.com, you may be able to see it on ESPN 360. I've watched the W&M/SIU and Montana/SFU on it and I'm about to watch 'Nova/UNH right now.

Agree. There's no excuse for this slam on one of our greatest players. The highest honor you can give someone is to retire their number. For this to be ignored is beyond comprehension.

Probably just best to let this play itself out like the Maples and Forcier situation did. If anything happens, I'm sure we'll hear about it before FU releases a statement on it. I'm sure that there are a lot of programs going after those guys though. Wouldn't surprise me if we were too.

Because my dad started taking me to Furman games when I was 3 years old. I remember the day we stopped Stump Mitchell cold at the goal in '78 and every highlight since. He was like Flagman and never missed a game until the day he died in 1994. Every Saturday at Furman is a day with my dad. When we are winning and carrying on that tradition we enjoyed together, it is a perfect Furman...

O-Line I think will have a decent year. We are losing two starters but I think we will be just fine. As for QB will an interesting battle to see who takes it Worley or Forcier. Either one will do well. We'll just wait and see who wants it more.

That thought came to mind as soon as I saw this story b/c I have been one of the people to compare Furman's situation to Georgia's. In fact, I think our situation is a combination of Georgia and Notre Dame's, except we know for sure that our coach will be back and we're (mostly) good with that. Like both UGA and ND, our defense is a problem. Like UGA, we're not getting rid of the ...
