That may be the way to go George, it has solar, to stabilize the temp, I'd probably never get out. Realistically I am working on (clandestinely measuring and calculating cost for) a large in wall. Wife knows something is up but she doesn't know what yet. Thinking 10' long 2.5' wide and 2.5' deep, about 450G grow out/display. It's free to dream and plan.

When it comes down to it water changes are the greatest contributing factor towards ridding your tank of Cyano.
On top of that you just need to vacuum out the Cyano while changing your water and it should be gone in 1-4 changes depending on how bad of a nutrient problem you have and how big of a change you do.
Diatoms, I've only seen during my beginning cycle and they go away after awhile, ...

I would definantly take all the fish out and treat them with a good ick cure. Just to be safe And...since it's possible the ick's in the system too I would leave the fishies in QT for a few weeks after they are cured, so hopefully the ick in the display die off with no host. good luck! and sorry to hear

You should only have 3 lines hooked up.
1. Water in from water supply with ball valve to your system
2. Drain out from the unit to the drain in your sink of drill directly to your drain pipe
3. RO/DI tube from your unit to your tank or anywhere you want the water to drain to.
