It does a couple of things without being legally binding.
First, it lets other coaches know the player is off the board. More on that in a minute.
Second, by making the decision the players takes a lot of pressure of himself and his family. Some handle it better than others.
Third, it helps coaches with their roster management.

if you are using non-tipped shooters (such as jimalax's) it helps to tear a
peice of paper and so when u burn the tip to tip it u wrap it with the
paper, twist hard and remove and that gives u a nice little point instead
of frays or it jsut being flat.

Love the video's.
I would love to see some of those tour video's (where players take you through a tour of the school) at some lower level schools in D1 and some good D3 schools.
I liked the video about things Quint hates. I liked it because he got personal with it and didn't just state the facts. I also liked it because it was funny in some aspects.
I like the coverage on the Hill...
