Speakin of fire breathin I was visiting with Don the other day and he fiugures that the hot sauce he sent to you and Paul at the same time is gone at your house and still in the jar at Pauls. He fixes my boy Adrian up with peppers just about everytime we go by there. Still plan on dragging him (and myself) up to Castell for some BBQ one of these Sundays. Been trying to get a bud out of Mt Home to give you a call on some trigger work, heard...

Well Kombi, i\'m afraid the 25-20 was a bit of a letdown, when i mentioned the rifle had the look of being stored for many years in a corner, i was slightly off track. It had spent many years stored in a roof space!, hence the very badly perished recoil pad, unfortunately, it had seen no oil to protect the bore or inner workings of the action. The exterior had been scrubbed with steel wool to spruce it up a bit, but the bore was badly...

Every once in a while, someone comes up with a good line at Thanksgiving dinner that is usually remembered for a LOOOONNG time. My wife and I went over to my sister\'s for dinner today. I butchered a turkey my mom raised, and my wife cooked it and a lot of other stuff to take over (my wife did most of the cooking). Anyway, the origins of the turkey came up, so my BIL\'s father asked how many turkeys mom had at her place. Mom said...

Went to my annual military and antique arms show on saturday, picked up a few odds and sods etc, and then something caught my eye and it was love at first sight!. It was a little martini, with a fantastic old custom stock, scope mounted on a heavy barrel chambered in 25-20, all i know about this cartridge is that it was possibly the original "Varmint round", research on the net has left ...

I bought this .22 to junk the stock and use the barrel and action to replace the verry worn, cracked barrel on my fathers old rifle which has a nice SILE walnut stock. When I bought it home it looked the the first photo below - no butt-plate, ugle shape, and wearing a Nikko Stirling scope. Closer inspection showed that the action and bore were in very good condition, with the barrel (which is...

For those following this saga I\'ve just found out that Hawkesbury River Bullet Co. here in Oz makes a cast 41 cal 210gr FP with a coating called Copper Hawke. It is rated up to and over 2200fps without leading. My aim is to use this to develop a reduced load around the 2200fps mark which duplicates 375 Win performance. So here are the specs: Velocity: ~2200fps Powders: Trail Boss ADI ...

Hi All, This morning in the post arrived the 13oz can of Tru-oil that I ordered, now I have never used this before , it was supposed to be for the re-finish of that P-H model 1000 that has just gone back. So now I will re-strip the varnish that went awry on the P-H 1200V and use it to get the high gloss finish back on that rifle to replicate the factory finish it had that was ...

Hi All, I have been wrestling with this decision since Friday but finally made up my mind yesterday afternoon. The P-H 1000 in .243 although a nice looking rifle provided you don't look too hard and it feels very good in the hands but it just has too may issues for me to be happy with it even though some time and a little money could fix most of them. Here's a couple of critters I got yesterday and today. I really like the color on the coyote. It doesn't show well in the picture, but it's white underneath with a sort of silver tip on the back. Most around here are more redish colored. This grey fox was sorta growly, but I won this time.

I started feeding the deer on the lease farm a little corn about a month before season opened. The only place I put out corn was below the pond dam where my brother & I fish. I can drive right down & dump the corn out the tailgate of the Nissan. That's hard work. The girl that runs the feed store loads the 50 pound bags of corn for me.
