So, would this brand be considered an offshore brand that is still good enough to buy if I see one of their ratchets or some wrenches come along? Not disposable crap?

Vintage tool ID on Craigslist

I'm not sure what your issue with that posting is... * He says it's a "vintage socket set..." I'll buy into that. * He says that style was invented in 1863. I have no reason to doubt that. * He never says that set is from any particular year or is any definite age. So there's no disproving any false claims. * I don't see any indications he's trying to get rich on it - while I prefer CL sellers to list a...

the double end wrenches were made to get a full set of open end wrenches in a smaller area for storage reasons. many of my contractors on Fort Hood are required to have these in a full set up to 1 1/8. they also want them to have baby tool boxes. They move from motor pool to motor pool every couple of months. the company doesnt have to move the boxes if they are all small and do not weight 5...

How about a 120mm hole saw ($16.50) and an old file or Dremmel tool? I did a google search and there's a whole lot of discussions about making a clean 120mm hole.
On a side note I sometimes see the hydraulic pump for those Green Lee chassis punches at auctions quite reasonably bought, that would be nice for holes that large.

Opinions on Craftsman Pro Wrenches?
I was just wondering what people thought of the Craftsman Pro wrenches. I need a good set of wrenches and was wondering how they stack up compared to the big names (snap-on, matco, mac, cornwell, etc.). I am looking at this set in particular.

Pickup trucks = worst drivers?
I spend a lot of time on the road for my job - driving about 25,000 miles per year, mostly on interstate and highways. I'm a bit of a data/analysis junkie, so I make it a point to keep track of different things like travel times between fixed locations based on time and day of week, etc. It ...

Last two pair were Timberland Pro - 1 standard toe and 1 safety toe. Each pair was comfortable and lasted 2-3 years.
Current pair is Red Wing #2240 safety toe. I've had them since mid-April and they seem to be holding up well so far but they aren't worn everyday. Disappointing that for the price RW charges, most of their boots are made in China now.

New Here. A Question of Garage Ethics.
One slow Sunday I was doing a U-joint job and since I do not have my own tools I asked Guy A from the shop if I could use his tools, he said it was fine.
While trying to bust the first bolt in the job the ratchet broke and started to slip. I look and see that it's a Snap-On ratchet ...
