Quote: It does not matter HOW you acquire the C&R firearm. If you acquire it AFTER you get your 03-FFL, it goes in the bound book. You can do a FORM 4 transfer of an NFA C&R and it STILL goes in the bound book. You do a face-to-face purchase of a C&R from a friend, it goes in the bound book. The amount of paperwork you do to get it is meaningless. End of story. I spoke to my ATF field agent this afternoon and he said...

Do the markings make the gun any less useful? Maybe the problem is not with the gun or the markings.

Some allow weapons in the school zone only for the length of time it takes a parent or guardian to drop off or pick up a child. Others don't make any exceptions at all. You need to check your state's laws. And, as has already been pointed out, even if it's legal, is it really worth doing?

If it were involuntary survival situation like lost in the woods, Whatever I have will have to get me through. If I had my druthers... I'd druther have a .22lr Ruger MK pistol and my .30-30. The reason is I can carry more ammo for the .30-30 than the shotgun. Brent

Scared of them, not in the least. BUT, if I notice a child (or anyone, for that matter) pointing something "at" me and it's even remotely perceived as something that could be any type of weapon, I'm instantly thinking and assessing the "situation" . But scared of a TOY, no. I've been at/on the Business End of a Firearm (no toy) several times. Stay calm and think.

In a long action like the 98 Mauser the 25-06 or maybe even the 270 Winchester would be more suitable.

I could not tolerate an unreliable gun, for any purpose. I would definitely send it back to Taurus, if they didn't fix it then it's only use would be the core of a concrete boat anchor. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I sold it to some poor soul.

Unless you catch someone with a special promotion sale, when you find a seller who doesn't charge extra for shipping, then the shipping cost is built in to the item cost. One way or the other, you will pay for the shipping cost.

We've all made mistakes, but if you pay attention, handloads are every bit as reliable as factory ammo. Whether you can save money or not depends on current prices. Before the great ammo shortage, I bought Winchester White Box .40 S&W at Wally World for the same price as the bullets alone at Midway. And places like "ammoman" often have good deals on bulk quantities of popular rounds. Reasons I ...

Assuming the barrel is not allowed to rise during firing, you are generally correct. It isn't bullet weight that causes the more arched trajectory, but ammunition loaded to pressure limits. Heavier bullets have to have a lower muzzle velocity for a similar chamber pressure, and lower velocity generally results in a more arched trajectory. If you "cheat", you can find long for ...

Hi Folks, I have to share this with you. The site I link to is swedish, but you will understand the bottom line(s). They tested various hunting rifles and one test is a fully blocked barrel with - as far as I understand - a standard factory cartridge being fired despite. Here you can see all the videos for each gun (self explaining): http://www.testfakta.se/Article.aspx?...

I would'nt say your being paranoid, I'd say your being smart. I'm not sure what the laws are in your state, but this is what I found for Nebraska: It is unlawful to possess a firearm in a school, on school grounds, in a school owned vehicle, or at a school-sponsored activity or athletic event. This prohibition does not apply to: members of the armed forces, peace officers or other duly ...

Welcome to the forum. Yes. There's another shortcut, and that's the Lee Liquid Alox lube. It is made for their tumble lube design and coats the bullets rather than filling the lube grooves. Even though that is meant to work only with the numerous small grooves of their Tumble Lube designs, everyone reports that it works well on standard shapes. At least, it does if they aren't driven too ...

My Browning A-Bolt .270 Winchester. Absolutely Flawless. When I had my Glock 21 (sold it in September), I never had a problem with it. I had it for either 7 or 8 years, and the only "non-perfect" thing it did was when it was new. About the first 50-100 rounds, it would catch an ejected brass, about 1 per 10 round magazine, at the ejection port, but once the recoil spring loosened up a ...

What guns do you usually recommend to beginners? This is a two part question. We get threads on here all the time from soon-to-be gun owners looking for advice on their first handgun.
