Where do I start with Iggy Pop/Stooges stuff? My current repetoire stands at zilch, and I figure it's a nice fulcrum point from late seventies Bowie. A few on special at JB, including The Idiot for $9. That worth picking up? I've read many a Stone feature on him, but never picked up any albums. Thoughts?

They keep turning video games into movies, but what about Castlevania or Contra? Now those I'd love to see as movies. Apparently work has already begun on a Castlevania movie, but I've heard nothing else.

f**k yeah, f**k the colosseum. I was there at Profondo Rosso in Oct last year. Luigi was nowhere to be seen, however, and downstairs was inaccessible at the time. Made sure I grabbed a shirt and a keyring, though.

Quote from: MaxTheSilent on October 13 2008, 04:41:08 PM Oh God, that was awful. VCD-quality picture and out-of-synch audio. Nice job Avenue One. I'd heard that release was atrocious (and I've seen the horrendous-quality trailer on a couple of Avenue One discs) in the past. It was later released in a 4x3 full frame version by Magna Pacific (which given that the film was shot ...

A mate gave me the heads up on this stinker. Obviously inspired by Lost and Survivor, its about a demonic pinata that goes on a killing spree on a deserted island once broken open. Haven't seen it yet, but based on the trailer I'd wishfully put it in the so bad its good category -

Naina - Indian horror film which isn't just a rip-off of 'The Eye' and 'Dark Water' but is pure plagiarism. The director's should have been sued by the Pang Brothers who did 'The Eye.' They Don't Cut The Grass Anymore - Pure s**t from start to end. No redeeming values at all. I wish the director did cut the grass, I'm sure he'd be far better at being a franchisee of Jim's Mowing ...

Decided to start this thread after watching the Charles Bronson film, ' Mr Majestyk' last night. Lee Purcell who plays Wiley, the wife of the man who is after Bronson's character was incredibly gorgeous. I sighed a few times when she was on screen due to how attractive she was. Here's some screenies of her from the film:

Bump! I've had the Bava box-sets all year and only tonight have I finally gotten around to watching RABID DOGS. Christ, what a movie! I would never have thought Mario Bava could make a movie that raw, fast-paced and intense. Of course there's those moments of Bava visual brilliance throughout, but mostly it's very naturalistic visually. I haven't watched KIDNAPPED yet, but on the ...

Quote from: canetoad on Today at 10:29:18 AM Bring it on. Toad rewatched 28 Weeks Later last weekend (introduced the young bloke to it) and I gotta say it improves on repeat viewings. In a way, I actually liked 28 WEEKS LATER more than the first one.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/801773 One of my favourite British comedies and arguable the best SitCom ever. Finally local and it has both the UK and US extras added! Was checking out some of the US commentaries - Patton Oswalt is killer, Kevin Smith is in his usual commentary form, Tarantino is surprisingly quiet, Matt Stone is... geeky. $39 at JB Hifi | |
