I have a friend who sings in the choir for the SS Morris AME Church on Milwaukee Street. He says that even at regular Sunday services, the house is a rockin'. I bet they put on quite a performance on Christmas Day.

Live blogging experiment
Published (2009-12-17 15:20:00)
The comments come into a queue and you have to approve them one at a time until you grant a person the right to have their stuff show up automatically. I think the idea would be to figure out how to invite certain people in as contributors from the start and those people would essentially be running the blog. For most of it, I was just approving comments, which was fine.

Who's Running for Mayor?
Published (2009-12-20 18:06:00)
Well one of the issues I'm concern about is that some walk signals are 25 seconds and some are only ten and I think people should be able to walk across the street in plenty of time without having to run to avoid being ran over

They have the most unpleasant help of any yarn store in the county, but I'd still be sad to see them go. I find this statement curious. I go out of my way to patronize small, independently owned stores over big-box, online or chains whenever I can. While I may end up paying a bit more (less often than you might think) I've found that - usually - the smaller indie stores will have ...

Yes, he tacked on a 24 month extended warranty that goes into effect when
Zildjian's 1-year warranty expires. That is somewhat shady. When he said he
wouldn't honor the cymbal price if I returned the warranty, it threw up all
sorts of flags. I did file a complaint with WI Dept of Ag, Trade & Consumer
Protection.

That's great to know. I was of the understanding that there wasn't a place in the direct Madison area that sharpened knives outside of an Ace Hardware (that will also sharpen your lawn mower blades at the same time).
I used to use that mobile knife sharpening company sharpen-it, but the last time I saw their truck, the dude said they were folding. That's a bummer, they did a fantastic ...

The bill creates or expands a large collaboration between Big Government and Big Business. For Republicans, it is a monumental and irreversible defeat. Once the structures are in place for federal control and regulation, there will never be a consumer market solution to lowering prices and expanding healthcare access. (I don't think a free market would work for healthcare, but it is a ...

I don't think we do. The homeless are doing just fine in the current building. I'd be more inclined to support the replacement/upgrading of the smaller libraries that are around the city. The new Sequoya branch is evidence of money well spent.

How about an accurate quote. "Silly, I know, but for those of us on the sidelines, this is like the superbowl." Context and accurate quoting can make all the difference. I'm no longer an elected official, I'm a blogger, that was a lead in to a post . . . have you nothing better to do than worry about a few words out of 1,000s I have written?
