I have the exact same problem. I can see the wall paper of my Toshiba XP laptop, but no icons or anything else can be seen. I tried VGA cable and S-Video 7 pins to S-video 4 pins cables, but both have the same results. Maybe there is some driver for XP that could help. Any ideas?
