I almost never enjoy movies based on books I have read and not just because the medium requires much of the nuance be left out. (Can you imagine how long the 'rings' movies or the 'potter' movies would be if they tried to include everything?) I just HATE it when they completely change the character of the characters. I've been like this since I saw what Disney did to my beloved childhood 'Mary Poppins'

Maddie still has a holiday party, they cant call it a Christmas Party but holiday party is sufficient enough. She had a few kids in her class who were Jewish and they joined in on the celebration because they too were celebrating the holiday, just not Christmas. At the end of the day they had a assembly where they sang holiday songs. I am unsure if it was any type of Christmas Songs per say......

Even though I helped Santa earlier, I still had to go down to look at the tree to see all the presents under it. I have done this since I was a small. One year, when my parents made us a house for our Ginny dolls, I shrieked out loud and woke everyone. I was sent back to bed. There will never be anything that exciting again. Mostly, I just sat there with the tree lights on in pure wonderment.

Glad you had a good one Deevs, and hope everyone else did too. Me? Sleep and telly, telly and sleep.
And enjoy your Boxing Day. I'm expecting a flat full of little people to see what Santa left for them at mine. No sleep and telly today then.

My Christmas dinner is today and I just ran across one of Zoie's presents I bought a while ago and forgot. Now I have to dig out the wrapping paper and I already put it in storage.
My table looks so pretty. Everything is set to go in the ovens. I'm so happy I have 2 ovens.
I cooked the first Christmas dinner in this house 34 years ago on the woodstove that was original to the main part...

Once again, I did not finish my wrapping, so I shall spend half the night doing such.
Today's plan involve a run to the store - I have to gather some items for Christmas breakfast tomorrow, plus I have my boyfriend's son here today and I'm taking him out to pick something up for his dad Then we're all making Santa's cookies and Reindeer food today!
Merry Christmas Eve!
