Ref releasing pistons from barrel Aluminium melts at about 700 deg C Iron at about 1700 deg C. Can't be any worse than touring Wales on an SS50 four speed as i did when I was sixteen. Was a bit lighter then, don't think a Honda 50 would pull me so easily now.

Try taking the tap off, and washing with clean petrol and then blowing it out with a air line. Is there a filter blocked above the tap?. If this dont work you could use solvent cleaners, as used on braking systems. Martin.

I've never had a problem, getting the valves to seal, but be careful I was a bit over enthussiastic once, and went right through the seats into the aluminium, are you getting a seating line on the valve ? Sometimes you can reprofile the valve a bit by putting it into a drill and use a cutting disc on the seating face to give a wider contact area. So long as it seals you should be OK, for ...
