Laptops are not like desktops, most white box deals are preassembled minus the CPU, ram and wireless adapter by the time you buy all the components you past the price of a prebuilt.

Motherboard and CPU are incompatible. The board you've chosen will only run Intel i7 900 series CPUs. Also Asrock motherboards are not very good. Since the i7 is overkill for your needs you should be looking at something like this: motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-397-_-Product And RAM that will fit it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-297-_-Product You need a power supply. I recommend this one:...

Hi again - Threads merged. As mentioned earlier: Stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms diminish. Lack of symptoms does not always mean the job is complete. I realize that college is a busy time, but I carry a finite number of open help topics, so by abandoning yours for several days, this means I cannot be helping someone else. Please reply more promptly so we can complete this cleaning. Thanks. Before beginning...

Hi again Looks like it may be your RAM or HDD that's causing the problems. Since you cannot boot to Windows the best option is to re-install. I would also try a diagnostic on your HDD - it may be on the way out. If you reformat the HDD then you will wipe any malware. If you need help with this then our XP forum will be able to guide you. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hello!
I would suggest to remove all hardware components from the Motherboard and leave just:
CPU, one RAM module, graphic card and, off course, PSU for the power...
Double-check CPU... My first suspect is CPU... Check if its fit well on the Motherboard as well as heat-sink...
Are you able to borrow PSU which you are sure its working to test on your new rig???
It is better ...
