. Those copper eyes are really intense and beautiful! Lucky must be an unusual mellow cat to accept a new kitten so quickly. It's nice when that happens ... as opposed to 6 months of 'working things out' the hard way.

Last year I adopted a year-old cat but returned him in less than two weeks, because he clearly wasn't going to be happy in such a small living space with such an absent owner, and I was clearly not going to be happy with him. One day I came home to find that he had broken some dishes. I started a monologue of frustration at him and got interrupted by tripping over him. I lost my temper and kicked him. A corset would be more fitting.
A Daguerreotype would be more appropriate.

I've actually had very good luck with corn in Utah. I have grown several varieties with excellent success. Never tried Silver Queen, but Kandy Korn is pretty much like that... delicious right off the cob.
And thumbs up to the fresh tomatoes...

When I read the first sentence, I assume you found a "night deposit" (and not the financial kind) the hard way.
Sorry, you'll develop a "shiner", but I'm glad the kitten wasn't seriously injured.
