How far do you drive in a day?
Published (2009-11-08 21:25:00)
12 hours max including meal and rest stops. I prefer no more than 10 hours but, I've done 12 before. When I'd take travel assignments as a nurse, I'd drive my car from my home in Wichita, KS to the west coast so I wouldn't have to rent a car. I'd cover the distance in 2 days. I've driven from Wichita to Salt Lake City in a day, got up the next morning and drove on to Seattle. I won't ever do that trick again....

Recession Hits Senior Communities

Maybe one side or the other - or both - can simply set up a trust or an LLC and then pay nothing? Just live and then die - never a care! Why make a commitment that might cost money? Or set up a community that may have expenses that have to be covered? These people are nuts if they are taking on personal expenses all by themselves virtually unprotected! It doesn't seem right that they are expected to pay simply because they want to build a...

New to Marriott Rewards Card
Published (2009-11-08 19:26:00)
For starters you get a certificate each year tha is good for one night stay at any Marriott branded hotel, category 1-4. That is more than enough to cover the annual fee. I mainly use my Marriott credit card for Marriott purposes. But, yes, it is possible to get many free stays and even free air travel if you use the card often enough. Similarly, I used an Amex card to pay for my oldest daughter's college tuition. I recently rolled 100K...

Once you have an II account, it covers all your timeshares. You just pay for one account and add as you purchase more timeshares. When I purchased Timber Lodge, I set up my account. When I purchased Shadow Ridge, it was just added to the account.
The fees you pay increase with more the more timeshares you own since you are charged everytime you trade.

All of the language regarding your exemption refers to a waiver of the " first bag fee". I believe that means that you and your family would still be charged the second bag fee for each person that checks two bags. Since the second bag fee is $30 ($27 if checked online), I believe that's what you would pay.
The fee is lower if you purchased your ticket before October 3.
Take a look ...

Marriott and Westin have the top resorts in Hawaii, but they aren't points based.
Wyndham/Worldmark & Shell are points based systems in Hawaii - but they are middle tier resorts ( nothing wrong with that.) Since the other system's points programs are going to be completely different than DVC anyway, I think I would look at all my options - not just point systems.
Do they plan to go to ...

Hi Mark
I would be interested if Allen Cohen the president of the owners association endorses this action. I trust that he is looking out for our best interest. I would love to see a class action suit related to the unfair way sales people market the timeshares and fail to disclose all of the rules of the program. They only provide the positive side of the transactions and I am not naive ...
