Tom - Are the escalating maintenance fees a financial hardship for you? If they were, wouldn't that make a difference? My maintenance fee at WKORV has doubled since we bought there. I'm a teacher who took a pay cut this year - I can't afford to spend that much on a vacation. Fortunately, we have been able to rent for the last 3 years to cover our MF, but I don't know how long that will last. When you can't rent your...

Ah, got it. But if you happen to see a Christmas-New Year's 2009 week just lying around somewhere ... Yesterday seemed to be a day of weird things happening with reservations. Did you read in the Thanksgiving 2010 thread where some folks could still access the calendars online after they'd gotten a confirmation number? Maybe Shadow Ridge's calendar was messed up somehow, too?

Thanks for the replies. We have a cash back card and I still intend to use it for most purchases. I'll have to compare the value of points vs cash to see which card is the better value but I am thinking that if I can get a round trip ticket for the $59 annual fee, it is worth it.

I don't actually have a exercise routine, but I do ride my exercise bike every morning AND before dinner, each time for 8-9 miles, 40 minutes, and keep my heartrate up for those 40 minutes.
I am aggressively trying to lose weight, which is not easy. I have been doing this for eight weeks, and I feel guilty if I miss one workout. It's a new feeling for me to feel guilty for not ...

The Kindle is great. However, many people I know (including myself) are
waiting for Apple to release the anticipated new tablet before purchasing,
as that device may incorporate the best of the Kindle and a lot more.

Hi flameworkart!
TUG has certain features that are for (paid) members only - my 2 favorite are the Sightings and Distress Board where members post the best exchanges they see available on the various exchange company websites, and the TUG reviews where there are hundreds of TS reviews written by TUG members.- MORE INFO.

When it gets beyond Aleve (naproxin) making it less painful, see an orthopedic doc. They might be able to shoot it with cortizone for a while, but ultimately they will filet your hip, saw out the old one and install a new ball and socket. I'm beyond Aleve, and well into cortizone. Not looking foward to replacement. So it goes.

Food is VERY subjective. What's gourmet to one is garbage to another. We've always sailed Royal Caribbean and we've always enjoyed the food. Others have different opinions. Celebrity seems to get consistantly high marks on food. My in-laws like Princess. Our daughter and SIL sail Carnival and have had no complaints ...

Great news. Fortunately, your 401(K) did not read the expert opinions bandied about by financial geniuses in the various newspapers, other media, and financial magazines. I remember a headline from one of the magazines that said something like "HOW MANY YEARS UNTIL THE DOW SEES 10,000!!!!!!!".
These so called experts are, for the most part, either total morons or just interested in making...

Chances are you also signed a will that will leave the trust irrevocably owning all your property in the event of your death
So you need an attorney not so much to title your current possessions into the trust but to make sure you understand (and make appropriate changes to) what the trust has to say about provisions for the survivor of you, your children, etc. when you die.

Two sides to this coin.
On one side is your situation.
On the other is this argument---by limiting high demand weeks to other high demand weeks, you make it more likely that someone depositing a very desirable week gets value in return, increasing the chances that they'll deposit again. And, more deposits is more revenue, etc. etc.
So, that leaves us with the question of what is high ...
