Consider this, also. This manufacturer is telling you not to buy their product. There would be NO sane reason for them to do this if there were no legitimate safety hazard.

Gonna have to drill some gas holes in the barrel. Are you a machinist? My reaction is NO, because of this, regardless if it actually fits otherwise. Go to e-gunparts.com, might have a 1400 barrel there. Great gun for the money, BTW. Like mine a lot.

Quick answer - 1997. That is when the firing pin went to the frame. I believe that is what you are asking. Just to be clear, it isn't a transfer bar. The firing pin is in the frame. The hammer strikes the pin as long as the hammer block isn't in place to block the hammer from reaching it - but the S&W design doesn't employ a bar to "transfer" the hammer energy to the firing ...

What kind of capacity would work best? heh, if she's anything like my wife she might like the "cute" breast cancer awareness colored grips. As for a good starting point The S&W Lady Smith can be had for around 500 bones if you look. Very reliable revolver, slim enough to pack anywhere, shoots the potent enough .38, 5 round...

I've had the hammer block break in both a S&W model 66 and a model 60. I've had a spring break in another 66 so the cylinder would not lock. S&W make good revolvers but they are also capable of breaking. Check if your snap cap 'primers' are returning properly, I dry fired my 66 enough to smash them in. I've seen Glock 22s blown up, bulged barrels on Sigs, a Sig P230 that would not stay ...

I agree. With all of that. I've found that if you slightly press up on the ejector, it helps to line it up a little more and sort of catches the falling rounds.

It's taken into account when you sight in the gun. Tilting barrels are used to lock up the barrel into the slide at the time the round is fired, tilting down to unlock the barrel and allowing the slide to fully travel. Straight blow-back pistols only work against the recoil spring. You start getting above a .380, the guns become real chunky and heavy, as in "Hi-Point" About at this ...

I think it has to do with not wanting the pistol to fire if bumped. I think with the hammer resting on the fire pin is not a good idea. The pistol is designed to be carried cocked and locked.

Welcome to THR I carry a stainless steel 357mag revolver with a 2 3/4 barrel and 180grain ammo. I'm very confident with my choice. The lighter the firearm the more felt recoil and may be harder for a follow up shot. The 44 is a great choice as you can use specials in it as well. I believe that the ammo should be hardcast as well. The reason is you want to make holes. Sometimes...

Most cops and soldiers know ONLY about the service weapons they carry. The police force and the military are not places to learn a lot about such things. I would not have hesitated to tell him that he needs to learn about a gun before he lectures about it.
