QUALITY HID kit?
Published (2009-11-14 15:27:00)
OK, I would like to maybe go with HID again, but I have concerns about the quality of the HID kits out there...they all seem to be made in china....are there any that are at least from japan, preferably from america? I'd also like to do it only if I know that I'm not going to overload headlight wiring and melt anything. ALSO...it seems that the aftermarket add-on-HID kits use bulbs that have wire harnesses attached that seem specific...

A codec is a piece of software that decodes the video and audio information (it's often stored compressed to save space) to a full picture and sound frame and vice versa. There are many different codecs out there, so if you don't have the right one installed you won't get video or sound, or both.

ok, two more suggestions... 1) Did you seafoam this engine(I saw it mentioned in the threads, but not sure if you did it)? My concern is that carbon buildup may be keeping a valve open just a bit or sticking causing the misfire. 2) The other thing is disconnecting or plugging vac accessories. There is a weakest/closest cylinder theory about why it affects only one cylinder and not others.

You can't just drop in a set of d2r bulbs into your housings. The length of the bulb itself has direct relation to where the focus of the arc itself will be in the housing. In order to have any decent beam pattern(with a lot of glare still unfortunately), the focus of that bulb needs to be exactly where a 9007 bulb would focus its filament. However, I am definitely interested in what a d2r ...

If yours Jerry chip is like mine (and I believe it is) these are set up for cars with 3.73 gears.
They work great and move the governor from about 105 up to 125 MPH; they don't remove it completely.
Don't ask me how I know this.
But, hey, who needs to go more than 125 anyway...
I run mine with one step colder Motorcraft 22C plugs and a 180 degree T-stat. I think 2 steps ...

Well, if your first 2 cats are still good - you should pass the sniffer test. But with only 2 out of 3 cats, if they do a Visual inspection you will Fail.
When I did Dual exhaust .. years back, I had a Dual in / Out 3rd cat insalled and dual pipes ran back - passed smog here in Cali, both on the test and Visual.

The wiring is not there. It would be easiest to tap into the dome light
wiring, which connects behind the driver side quarter trim.

Hey guys, my dad took my daughters t-bird, over to a local shade-tree. It has a service engine light on, and the code reads... misfire #2 cylinder. We just bought the car, last week. The mechanic tried changing the spark plug, installed a new fuel injector, changed the plug wire... but still cylinder #2 has a mis-fire. that is the only code the guys at autozone could pull off of it.He said the ...

I would think it would be easier to take a Taurus wagon and chop the rear off.

It would be nice to have an organized sticky with just a pole of engines. people can just tag what mod motor they're running... 2v npi n/a, 2v npi boosted, 2v pi n/a, 2v pi boosted, dohc n/a, dohc boosted, 5.4l etc.. doesn't need to be clogged up with whats been done to it and bs just a clean pick your motor your running... it'd give everyone a better idea of just how many swaps, etc have been ...

Most of us here agree that the only worthwhile alternative to Motorcraft is
Moog. When you do upper ball joints, you actually order the entire control
arm; they are sold as a unit and are not available separately. The newer
Motorcraft replacements also have a grease fitting; mine from Jon here at
the parts counter cost me roughly $45. You can get the job done with a
basic toolset, but an 18mm ...
